An individual is considered to be disabled if they satisfy any one of the following conditions:
- Individual receives supplemental security income OR
- Individual receives disability or blindness payments from social security OR
- Individual receives federally or State administered supplemental benefits OR
- Individual receives Federal, State or local public disability retirement pension because of a permanent disability OR
- Individual receives or is entitled to receive payments from the Veteran's Administration for a 100 percent total disability OR
- Individual is a veteran and considered by the Veteran's Administration to need regular aid and attendance or permanently housebound OR
- Individual is a surviving spouse of a veteran and considered in need of aid and attendance or permanently housebound and incapable of self-support OR
- Individual is a surviving spouse of a veteran and considered by the VA to be entitled to compensation under title 38 and has a disability considered permanent under section 221(i) of the SSA OR
- Individual is a surviving child of a veteran and considered by the VA to be entitled to compensation under title 38 and has a disability considered permanent under section 221(i) of the SSA OR
- Individual is a recipient of interim assistance benefits OR
- Individual is a recipient of disability related medical assistance under title XIX of the Social Security Act OR
- Individual is a recipient of disability-based State general assistance benefits.
