The implementation of a plan item varies depending upon the required functionality. However there are some fundamental steps that must be undertaken in order to allow the plan item to function in a service plan. The following example, Mileage Reimbursement, illustrates the steps that must be undertaken to add a plan item to a service plan that results in the creation of a product delivery. This chapter uses the Mileage Reimbursement example to outline the configuration required to achieve the integration between a service plan item and a product delivery case.
