The selection list can be displayed as a drop-down list or as a scrollable selection list with a number of entries visible. A drop-down selection list is displayed by default. To change this to a scrollable selection list set the HEIGHT attribute of the FIELD element to a value greater than 1.The appearance of a selection list differs from a drop-down list in two noticeable ways. For a drop-down list only the default value is displayed and all the other selectable values are displayed only when the drop down arrow is selected. Additionally the drop-down list is not scrollable. However, a scrollable selection list does not have the drop-down arrow, a subset of the values are initially displayed - the size of the subset is dependent on the value of the HEIGHT that is set. This list has a scrollbar which can be used to scroll the list, and view and select the remainder of the selectable values.
