You can add new artifacts to extend a base application. To add a new artifact, you simply create the new file in your component folder. The file name of the artifact should not be the same as the file name of an artifact in another component. If it is, the artifact will override another artifact or be merged with one. All types of artifacts can be added to an application in this manner, note artifacts added to the WebContent sub-folder will always override other delivered artifacts, as described in Section Custom Resources.
