Ciphering refers to the process of encrypting passwords. That is, this is a two-way process representing decrypt-able values. There are about a dozen of these encrypted passwords in various property files in Cúram and encrypting them helps keep them secure and they are are decrypted at the necessary points for usage; e.g. connecting to your database system.
