An eligible alien's income will consist of deemed income from a sponsor in addition to their own income. Follow these steps to determine how much should be deemed to the alien from a sponsor:
- Determine value of the sponsor's and spouse's, if any, In-kind Support and Maintenance
- Total the sponsor's and spouse's, if any, countable gross unearned income from all other sources add the value of any In-kind Support and Maintenance (determined above)
- Total the sponsor's and spouse's, if any, countable gross earned income from all sources (including self employment income)
- Carry out the deeming process for Sponsor to Alien deeming
- Add the total deemable income, if any, of the sponsor(s) to the eligible alien's unearned income
The above steps are repeated for each of the alien's sponsors.
