A typical system landscape consists of a development system, test system and production system.
The Cúram Business Application Suite includes a wide breadth of administration and configuration data. Customers are likely to have the need to configure and test this on development and test systems ahead of deploying to production. CTM now provides the functionality to transport this data across the system landscapes and ensure the data is fully tested, reliably transported, and applied to each system, while also retaining the integrity of data objects. CTM provides a mechanism for packaging configuration data and transporting it from one system to another.
The following sample scenario illustrates how CTM works: A user creates or changes some configuration data on a development system. The user then uses CTM to transport the configuration data to a test system, which has a configuration that closely mirrors the production system. Once the configuration data has been successfully tested on the test system, the user uses CTM to transport the configuration data to the production system and make it live.
