A Spend Down case can be reassessed at various stages over a given period of time when a change of circumstance has occurred. Reassessment detects whether an individual is potentially eligible for other Medical Assistance coverage types. If ineligible, the system recalculates the Spend Down amount for the period(s) affected by the change in evidence. The reassessed amount may be greater or less than the previously calculated amount and thus different processing is required to handle this.
