The hierarchical location structure is used for location security, both at the administration level and the case/client level. A location and it's parent location determine where the location fits into the hierarchy. Any location can have a parent/child relationship with any other location. The location type bears no relation to where a location can be in the hierarchy, and it does not restrict the relationship between locations. It is for informational purposes only.
