Product security is another level of security that can be used by the organization to secure information. Cases are secured using a combination of location data security and product SID functionality. Security for cases can be applied on a location only basis, or using a combination of location and product security settings.
For example, when location data security is set to "On", a user will only be able to access cases in their own location and sub-locations. If a product has additional SIDs specified and location data security is set to "On", this may further restrict a user's access to a case in their own location or sub-locations that contains this product.
Products and cases can be secured using any combination of location data security settings and SID functionality, depending on the needs of the organization.
