Hearing Statuses

Each hearing scheduled for a hearing appeal case goes through several stages during its lifecycle. The hearing status reflects the stage of the hearing.

The following table describes the hearing statuses in full:

This table describes the statuses a hearing can have.

Status

Description

Scheduled A hearing status is "scheduled" when a hearing is scheduled for a hearing appeal case. Note that only one hearing can exist on a hearing case with a status of "scheduled" at the one time.

Completed

A hearing status is "completed" when a hearing for a hearing appeal case has been held and is complete.

Adjourned A hearing status is "adjourned" when a hearing for a hearing appeal case has been adjourned while in session.
Continued A hearing status is "continued" when a hearing for a hearing appeal case has been postponed to a later date. When a hearing is continued, another hearing must be scheduled for the hearing to progress to the next stage in its life cycle.
Canceled

A hearing status is "canceled" when the scheduled hearing for a hearing appeal case is canceled.
