Hearing Lifecycle

After the hearing appeal case is approved, the hearing lifecycle commences. The hearing lifecycle consists of all the steps leading up to the hearing from scheduling the hearing through to the completion of the hearing. This hearing is presided over by a hearing official who is a user within the organization and had no part in either the original decision or in any prior appeal. The hearing official is responsible for making a decision on the appeal after the hearing.

A hearing must be scheduled and completed before a decision can be entered for the hearing appeal case. Additionally, hearings managed as part of a hearing case can be rescheduled, continued, or adjourned.

Each stage in the hearing lifecycle includes a set order of functionality, as described below.
