Referring Clients to Community Services

In line with the No Wrong Door approach, workers can refer clients to community service providers who may be able to help meet their basic needs. The agency may not provide a program for the client's need or the client may be deemed ineligible for a program. In these instances, the worker can refer the client to a service provider that may be able to help.

Workers can create referrals to community service providers based on the triage results for the client. The referral is a simple form that is prepopulated with the provider information and any available client contact information. The name fields on the form are editable to facilitate the scenario where a referral is created for an anonymous person and the client wishes to provide their name. The worker may send, edit or delete an unsent community service referral. By selecting to send a referral, the referral will be sent to the provider via email.
