Recommendation conditions can be used to filter the recommended activities on an outcome plan, such that only those recommendations where the client satisfies the related condition are displayed. A condition can be based on gender, age, an assessment question and answer, or rule set. A condition is first defined and then associated with an activity so the same conditions, once defined, can be associated with multiple activities. For example, James Smith (age 38) is classified as having a Need in Substance Abuse. Adolescent Substance Abuse Treatment and Adult Inpatient Substance Abuse Treatment activities have been configured as recommendations for clients classified as having a Need in Substance Abuse. A condition has been associated with Adolescent Substance Abuse Treatment such that it is only recommended if the client is between the ages of 16 and 17. A condition has been associated with Adult Inpatient Substance Abuse Treatment such that it is only recommended to clients over the age of 18. As a result of the age conditions associated with Adolescent Substance Abuse Treatment and Adult Inpatient Substance Abuse Treatment, only Adult Inpatient Substance Abuse Treatment is recommended for James as he is over the age of 18.
Conditions can be grouped together into condition sets to allow for more complex condition processing, for example, a condition set can contain a condition for gender and a condition for age. For example, James Smith is classified as having a Need in Substance Abuse. Adolescent Substance Abuse Treatment and Adult Inpatient Substance Abuse Treatment have been configured as recommendations for clients classified as having a Need in Substance Abuse. A condition has been associated with Adolescent Substance Abuse Treatment such that it is only recommended if the client is between the ages of 16 and 17. A condition set has been associated with Adult Inpatient Substance Abuse Treatment such that it is only recommended to male clients over the age of 18. Based on this condition, Adult Inpatient Substance Abuse Treatment is recommended for James as he is over the age of 18 and is a male.
