RECENT ANNOUNCEMENTS (APRIL 1999)

4690 OS VERSION 2

The 4690 Operating System Version 2 was released February 26, 1999.
Version 2 adds Java capability at the store controller and point-of-sale
register.

The on-line publications have been updated to include this support.
A new JavaTIPS document is available on the 4690 OS site
(http://www.raleigh.ibm.com/rds/storesys/4690/4690os.html).

This site also includes a link to the 'free pubs' site which includes the
User's Guide, Planning and Installation Guide, Communications Guide,
Programmaning Guide, and Messages Guide.

Please note also that 4690 Version 1 will no longer ship with a documentation
diskette. All documentation is available on the 4690 site listed above.
