Configuring Rational ClearTeam Explorer preferences

With the Rational® ClearTeam Explorer preferences page you can specify appearance and behavior preferences for the Rational ClearTeam Explorer.

Procedure

To configure Rational ClearTeam Explorer preferences:

  1. From the main menu bar, click Window > Preferences to open the Preferences dialog box.
    • If you are using the Rational ClearTeam Explorer for Eclipse, select Team > IBM® Rational ClearTeam Explorer.
    • If you are using the Rational ClearTeam Explorer, select IBM Rational ClearTeam Explorer.
  2. Specify the style of ClearCase decorations that you prefer. These decorations provide a visual indication of the ClearCase® state of a resource. You can select icon decorations, text decorations, or both. For more information about these decorations and what they mean, see ClearCase label decorations and resource states.
Note: In the Eclipse environment, ClearCase decorations can be disabled. For more information, see Enabling resource decorations.
  3. If you are using Web view, the CCRC WAN server to which you connect must use a character set encoding that is compatible with the character set encoding for which your client host is configured. If a client and server use incompatible character set encodings, many ClearCase operations will fail. When you run the Rational ClearTeam Explorer on a computer that is configured to use a language other than US English, the Log in dialog box warns you about this each time you connect to the CCRC WAN server. To suppress this warning, select Set default to not display incompatible encodings warning on non-English clients.
  4. Save your preferences.
    • To restore the Rational ClearTeam Explorer preferences to their default settings, click Restore Defaults
    • Click Apply to set the specified preferences and leave the dialog box open.
    • Click OK to set the specified preferences and close the dialog box.
    • To nullify any changes to the Rational ClearTeam Explorer preferences you have made during the current session and close the dialog box, click Cancel.
