The Rational Change for ClearCase Interface is certified only in the following locales:
Japanese, Korean, PRC/Simplified/GBK Chinese, Traditional/Big-5 Chinese, and C. IBM supports use in any locale using the Latin-1 character set or the Windows extension CP 1252; however, such locales have not been tested.
1. Download the interface.
o For Windows, ratlChange_ClearCase_2-1-0-1_windows.zip
o For Linux, ratlChange_ClearCase_2-1-0-1_linux.tar.gz
o For Solaris, ratlChange_ClearCase_2-1-0-1_solaris.tar.gz
If you have Rational Change installed, you can download the Interface from Rational Change server http://host:port/context/trapeze/integrations.
If you have downloaded Rational Change you can also unzip the file and the Interface will be available under <unzipdir>\change\integrations.
2. Extract to a temporary folder.
On the Rational Synergy server, install the ClearCase Placeholder Object type definition.
Locate the file <distribution>\install\rational_synergy\cc_plcholder_obj.xml, which contains type
definitions. Type Definitions are
installed on a per-database basis, and this type
definition needs to be installed on all databases with which you intend to use
the interface.
Using Synergy 7.1
1. From the Rational Synergy CLI, start
a Synergy classic client session where the current user role is type_developer
or ccm_admin.
2. Copy cc_plcholder_obj.xml to C:\synergy_typedefs, or to some other location.
3. Use the following command to install
the Type Def, replacing C:\synergy_typedefs with the appropriate location. If
the command fails to import the typedef, ensure that
your current user has the permissions needed to access cc_plcholder_obj.xml.
o
ccm typedef -import cc_plcholder_obj
-dir C:\synergy_typedefs –force
4. Verify the Type Definition
Installation with the following command:
o
ccm query -n cc_plcholder_obj
o
ccm attr -l @
Using Synergy 7.2 and
above
1. From the Rational Synergy UI launch
Synergy CLI.
2. Set the role to type_developer or ccm_admin
a. ccm set role ccm_admin
3. Copy cc_plcholder_obj.xml to C:\synergy_typedefs, or to some other location.
4. Use the following command to install
the Type Def, replacing C:\synergy_typedefs with the appropriate location. If
the command fails to import the typedef, ensure that
your current user has the permissions needed to access cc_plcholder_obj.xml.
a.
ccm typedef -import “C:\synergy_typedefs\ cc_plcholder_obj.xml”
5. Verify the Type Definition
Installation with the following command:
a.
ccm query -n cc_plcholder_obj
b.
ccm attr @
