Using Diff Merge

ClearCase Diff Merge “enables” you to compare two or more files, directories, or versions, graphically representing the differences between them.

If used within the context of a merge (for example, if called indirectly by the Merge Manager or if used directly using the cleartool merge -graphical command), Diff Merge enables you to resolve differences between contributors graphically, merging the results into a single file, directory, or version.

If used outside the context of a merge (for example, comparing from within the Version Tree Browser or using the cleartool diff -graphical command), you only can view differences between files, directories, or versions; the merge functionality is not available.
