Scope
These release notes provide information critical to installing and using this
Rational Hotfix.
This hot fix applies to the following products when they are used with
Microsoft Visual Studio .NET 2003.
- Rational® PurifyPlus for Windows
- Rational® Purify for Windows
- Rational® Quantify for Windows
- Rational® PureCoverage for Windows
- The Visual Trace capability in Rational® XDE Developer Plus
It addresses a problem that can cause a managed app to crash when it is being
analyzed by any of our tools in the Microsoft Visual Studio .NET 2003
environment. If you have experienced a crash during managed code analysis under
these circumstances you should install this Hotfix.
Installation Information
This hotfix consists of 1 file: BCIEngCOR.dll.
To install this file:
- Find the Rational Software common directory. In a typical installation
this would be a directory like: C:\Program Files\Rational\Common. This
directory will have been added to the path when the product was originally
installed.
- Verify that this directory contains a file named BCIEngCOR.dll.
- Backup the file so you can restore it if needed, so for example rename
BCIEngCor.dll to BCIEngCOR.dll.sav or copy it to a different directory.
- Unzip BCIEngCOR.dll and extract it to the common directory where you found
the file on your system.
- You have installed the hotfix.
