Rational Rose®, hereafter referred to as Rose, is a comprehensive, integrated programming environment that supports the development of complex software systems. This manual explains how to install Rose on UNIX/Linux platforms.

Audience

This manual is intended for:

• Anyone who installs Rose

This manual assumes you have a general understanding of the UNIX/Linux operating system and X Window System environment on the platform on which you will install Rose. You will need help from your system administrator, or experience in UNIX system administration, and the ability to log in as root to do some of the installation steps.
