In addition, different platforms have idiosyncratic features that may affect ClearCase use.
For example, Windows computers differ in the functionality of the command shell, depending on which Windows platform you are using. To improve the performance, you can also adjust the cache parameters using the Control Panel.
On UNIX systems, you can improve ClearCase performance by adjusting the size of your MVFS caches and other kernel parameters, but the methods and parameters vary by platform. Other platform differences include those in makefile compatibility, in compiler functionality, in graphics libraries, and in shared library paths.
