Triggers are not bullet-proof for enforcing security
- Clever or knowledgeable users can sometimes find ways to bypass triggers
- ClearCase still records full audit trail history of all modifications/additions/deletions regardless
Triggers are an extra system overhead- use them wisely
- Watch out for multiple triggers on common commands such as checkout,checkin,mkbranch
- Inefficient or buggy trigger scripts can impact the development environment
