Factors in Choosing Snapshot Views

• Builds

  • Better build performance - no MVFS, view or VOB server accesses
  • Build auditing or build avoidance features of ClearCase are not available - can’t generate derived objects

• Disconnected use

  • Can use a snapshot view without being connected to the VOB servers
  • Access only to the element versions previously loaded into the snapshot view - not necessarily the most recent version in the VOB
