Use cleartool ls to determine what the state of the checkedout file is.

cleartool ls

subdir1@@.main/5 RULE: /main/LATEST

x.c@@.main/CHECKEDOUT from/main/3 RULE: /CHECKEDOUT

y.c@@/main/CHECKEDOUT from /main/1 [checkedout but removed]

• The element still exists and is checkedout to this view

• However, the view private checkedout file, is missing.

• Causing the ‘disappearance’ of the file from unix ls -l
