Three Types of VOBs

• Source VOBs

  Contain all the source code, documentation files, scripts, etc. that go into building the products.
  

• System VOBs

  System header files, libraries and compilers. One VOB per supported platform
  

• Staging VOBs

  Checked in versions of the products (derived objects) generated by release builds. One VOB per supported platform/product pair
