This patch updates Rational ClearQuest v2001A by providing fixes for defects listed below in the Defects fixed in this release section. Refer to the Installation Information section for details on installing this patch. This section also includes information to understand issues related to installing this patch in conjunction with Rational ClearQuest MultiSite and other ClearQuest hot fixes. This patch includes the following hot fixes: RAMBU00014828, RAMBU00018961, RAMBU00019081 and RAMBU00021413.

This section describes the steps involved in installing this
patch.
Rational ClearQuest Service Release 2001A.04.01.293.012 is designed to be installed directly on top of ClearQuest v2001A.04.00. This service release comprises this release notes file and a self extracting executable. Follow these steps to install this service release:
1. If the ClearQuest web is installed on your machine you must ensure that the ClearQuest\WWW folder is not read-only.
2. Run the self extracting executable ‘clearquest2001a.04.01.293.012.exe’.
3.
Enter the location of your existing ClearQuest or Rational Suite
installation in the ‘Unzip to folder:’ field. Please be sure to provide the
name of the folder that contains the ClearQuest folder.
4. Press the ‘Unzip’ button to extract the service release into your installation.
No other configuration is necessary. Users may immediately begin running the ClearQuest client.
This
patch is compatible with Rational ClearQuest v2001A.04.00 and with any Rational
Suite v2001A products. It is not
compatible with previous releases of ClearQuest or Rational Suite.
In
addition, please note that there are some issues with installing this service
release over Rational ClearQuest v2001A.04.20 or hot fixes. The following configurations are
supported:
1.
With
ClearQuest v2001A.04.00, installing one or more of the hot fixes followed by
installing ClearQuest v2001A.04.01.293.012 followed by installing ClearQuest
v2001A.04.20
2.
With
ClearQuest v2001A.04.00, installing one or more of the hot fixes followed by
installing ClearQuest v2001A.04.20
3.
With
ClearQuest v2001A.04.00, installing ClearQuest v2001A.04.01.293.012 followed by
installing ClearQuest v2001A.04.20
4.
With
ClearQuest v2001A.04.00, installing ClearQuest v2001A.04.20
The
following configurations are not supported:
1.
Installing
ClearQuest v2001A.04.10.293.012 over ClearQuest v2001A.04.20
2.
Installing
one or more of the hot fixes over ClearQuest v2001A.04.20
3.
Installing
one or more of the hot fixes over ClearQuest v2001A.04.10.293.012
This section describes the defects that are fixed in this
release along with a list of files that have been updated.
The Find functionality in Rational ClearQuest Web does not work as expected with this fix because of a defect, RAMBU00021640. When the logical database name is numerical (eg: 123), the Find functionality will fail to find the record when you provide its entire id, such as 12300000032. It works as expected when the logical database name is not included in the search string. For example, ClearQuest Web will find the record whose id is 12300000032 if you just enter 32 in the Find control.
