Provide information on the performance modeling and measurement facilities in ObjecTime.

The toolset supports two run time environments -- the SimulationRTS and the TargetRTS. The performance and statistics data generated in each environment are distinct and have a different purpose.

The SimulationRTS allows the user to perform platform-independent modeling of the system performance at a high level(architectural level). This is useful during the early phases of development when actual hardware may not be available. However, the facilities are closely integrated with the toolset and relatively powerful. The TargetRTS runs directly on the target hardware, or on the host if emulation is desired. The toolset performance modeling facilities are not available in the TargetRTS. However, accurate real-world statistics can be gathered in this environment. The following documentation should be reviewed:

Users with TargetRTS source code may also directly instrumented the TargetRTS to obtain customized performance statistics.
