Intended audience
This document is intended for system administrators
and managers responsible for installing and implementing ClearDDTS. It
provides a road map to the implementation process, briefly describing the
order and procedures for setting up ClearDDTS in your environment. The
road map points you to the detailed information you need in the ClearDDTS
Installation and Licensing Guide, the ClearDDTS
User's Guide, and the ClearDDTS
Administrator's Guide to get ClearDDTS up and running.
Using the Implementation Road Map
The information in this document is presented in the
order in which ClearDDTS should be implemented. As a reminder, buttons
appear highlighted at the beginning of each topic indicating the current
step. These buttons are also links to the other steps.
Each step contains brief procedures with references
to the manuals and chapters you will need to read. Topics covered include:
- Planning: The first step of implementation
is planning how ClearDDTS will represent your environment. This topic discusses
what you need to think about before installing and using ClearDDTS.
- Installation: The second step of implementation
is installing ClearDDTS. This topic discusses what to do depending on your
type of installation.
- Customization: The third step of implementation
is often customization (or you can choose to use ClearDDTS as shipped).
This topic briefly describes the types of customizations, the order they
should be done, and references to manuals where you can find more detail.
- User Access: The fourth step of implementation
is making ClearDDTS available to your users. This topic describes how to
make ClearDDTS accessible to users via the network and the web interface.
- Distribution: The fifth step of implementation
is making information available over a distributed network. This topic
covers sharing projects and classes, remote access, and unique features
of a distributed ClearDDTS network.
