Microsoft has discovered a serious flaw in Windows XP TCP services, which is documented in Microsoft Knowledge Base Article 317949 and has been fixed in Windows XP Service Pack 1. This flaw causes corrupted data to be sent over certain TCP connections and is known to cause intermittent failures in ClearCase operations. Although no documented instances of customer data corruption have been attributed to this flaw, Rational believes that such corruption is possible and so we strongly recommend updating all ClearCase hosts running Windows XP to Service Pack 1.
Note: ClearCase patches are required when running ClearCase 2002.05.00 on Windows XP. Earlier ClearCase releases have not been tested with Windows XP Service Pack 1.
