employee via speech. This demo contains over 200,000 names in 250
locations.
Mutual Funds demonstrates speech-enabled information retrieval from a
web site. This demo provides price quotes for over 9,500 mutual funds.
United States Presidents demonstrates speech-enabled information retrieval from a database.
This demo provides brief but noteworthy comments about each
President's stay in office.
Note: The information provided is for demonstration purposes only and is not intended for
use in making financial decisions.
Highlights of these demos include:
- Speaker independent, continuous command recognition
- Large vocabulary recognition
- Text-to-speech confirmation
- Barge in (The ability to interrupt an audio prompt as it is playing)
Each demonstration can be accessed toll-free in North America by calling
877 VIA-VOICE (877-842-8642), and outside North America at (01)
972 402 5963. At the prompt, request one of the three choices - Directory
Dialing, Mutual Funds or U.S. Presidents. The demo will then ask for more
information. Depending on which demo you choose, respond with either
the full name of the employee, mutual fund or U.S. President you wish to
search. During the demo, try "barging in." As the demo plays a prompt,
make another request. The system will recognize the interruption, stop
what it is doing, and perform the new request.
At any time during the demo, help is available by saying "help." Requests
can be cancelled by saying "cancel." When finished, you can return to the
ViaVoice Telephony Demonstration Center by saying "demo center." To
end the call, say "good-bye" or hang up.
