Testing Environment 5. Reference -----------------end of Contents----------------------------------------------- 2. Installation Notes ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2.0.8.4.0.0 OnDemand is now a 64bit Application on Unix Platforms. What this means to customers is: - All Customized Server User Exits like arsufax, arsusec, arsuperm, arsuload, arsuprep, arstblsp, and arsuupdt must be built as 64bit now - The Batch Admin now requires a 64bit JVM - ACIF is still a 32bit application so, ACIF Exits are still 32bit Database support is limited to DB2 This current release will only support DB2. Oracle and SQL Server support is planned for delivery in the fourth quarter of this year. Migration from a previous Content Manager OnDemand Release Customers migrating from the previous release will need to run the "arsdb <-I instance_name> -vu". This will update the existing OnDemand System tables to support the new capabilities in version 8.4.0.0 Upgrading customers will need to: 1.) Stop the OnDemand Server. 2.) Backup the OnDemand Database or make sure they have a current backup. 3.) Install the 8.4 Upgrade. 4.) Run "arsdb <-I instance_name> -vu" 5.) Start the OnDemand Server. 2.0.8.4.0.1 OnDemand has now been tested with and supports Oracle 10g and Microsoft SQL Server 2005 This version of OnDemand now supports Oracle 10g and Microsoft SQL Server 2005. On AIX 5.3, Oracle 10g requires a TCPIP Patch, IY89429. On 64bit Windows 2003, Oracle 10g 32-bit client Version 10.2.0.3 is needed. For Microsoft SQL Server 2005 running on a 64bit Windows 2003 system, SP1 is required. For DB2 UDB V9 running on a 64bit Windows 2003 system, FP 1 is required 2.0.8.4.0.2 OnDemand now ships the appropriate DB2 Enterprise License file for use with OnDemand Multiplatforms Registering the DB2 product license key using the db2licm command The DB2(R) product uses the license key information contained in the nodelock file. The nodelock file is created or updated by running the db2licm command and specifying the license file for the DB2 product. Creating or updating the nodelock file is referred to as registering the DB2 product license key. You must register the DB2 product license key by running the db2licm command on each computer where DB2 is installed. If you want the product or feature license key added automatically during the installation, you need to copy the license key to the /db2/license directory of the installation image before launching the DB2 Setup wizard. Procedure to manually register your DB2 product license key using root authority: 1. Log in as a user with root authority. 2. Register the DB2 product license key with the appropriate command: /usr/opt/db2_08_01/adm/db2licm -a filename on AIX /opt/IBM/db2/V8.1/adm/db2licm -a filename for all other UNIX-based operating systems where filename is the full pathname and filename for the license file that corresponds to the product you are bundling. For Content Manager OnDemand for MultiPlatforms, this file can be found in the following directories: For AIX: /usr/lpp/ars/config/db2ese_o.lic For other UNIX-based operating systems: /opt/ondemand/config/dbese_o.lic For Windows operating systems: C:\Program Files\IBM\OnDemand for WinNT\Config\db2ese_o.lic After running the db2licm command, the DB2 product license key information is contained in the nodelock file in the following directories: AIX: /var/ifor. HP-UX, Linux(TM), or Solaris Operating Environment: /var/lum. Windows(R): DB2PATH/sqllib/license. To register your DB2 product license key as the instance owner: 1. Create the instance environment and become the instance owner. 2. Register your DB2 product license with the appropriate command: For UNIX(R) operating systems: db2instance_path/adm/db2licm -a filename For Windows operating systems: db2instance_path\adm\db2licm -a filename where db2instance_path is where the DB2 instance was created and filename is the full pathname and filename for the license file that corresponds to the product you are bundling. More information can be found in the DB2 InfoCenter at http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/db2luw/v9/index.jsp search for "Registering the DB2 product license key using the db2licm command" -------------end of Installation Notes----------------------------------------- 3.
