Testing Environment 5. Reference -----------------End of Contents----------------------------------------------- 2. Installation Notes ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2.0.7.1.2.1 The OnDemand Server fixpack was pulled because of problems with Document Query when using the Client. This problem was corrected in the 7.1.2.2 fixpack 2.0.7.1.2.2 CM OnDemand has now been ported to Linux for S/390 - Pre-reqs - Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 3 Update 3 31bit - SuSE Linux Enterprise Server (SLES) 8 SP 3 31bit - Database - DB2 UDB 8.1 or later - TSM 5.2.2 or later See the 3.8.7.1.2.2 section for specifics 2.0.7.1.2.3 Batch Admin - The Batch Admin is now included in this release. Please see the README file in the bin/xml directory. 2.0.7.1.2.4 Testing - This PTF has been tested on and supports the following new levels of AIX 5.3, DB2 8.2 and TSM 5.3. 2.0.7.1.2.5 Testing - This PTF has been tested on and supports the following new level of Oracle 10g. 2.0.7.1.2.6 Migration - Upgrading DB2 Content Manager OnDemand to Version 7.1.2.6 or higher requires changes to the ARSUSER table before the OnDemand Server can be used. The following error messages are generated when attempting to logon to the OnDemand Server. - DB Error: [Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server] Invalid column name 'passwd_exp'. -- SQLSTATE=42S22, SQLCODE=207, File=arsid.c, Line=3107 - DB Error: [IBM][CLI Driver][DB2/NT] SQL0206N "PASSWD_EXP" is not valid in the context where it is used. SQLSTATE=42703 -- SQLSTATE=42S22, SQLCODE=-206, File=arsid.c, Line=3107 Starting with Version 7.1.2.6, DB2 Content Manager OnDemand now provides a way to save default server printer parameters on a per user basis. Also, individual user management options like password expiration, inactivity timeout, or disabling a user have been added. In order for DB2 Content Manager OnDemand to support these new user options, the ARSUSER table must be updated with new columns prior to using the OnDemand Server. A new option, -u, has been added to the arsdb command to update the OnDemand System tables as PTFs are released to support new capabilities being added in this a upcoming Fixpacks. This option will update the tables based on the server version number. It can be run multiple times, but cannot be easily backed out. Customers will need to make sure they have a valid database backup and recovery plan prior to running this command. By running "arsdb <-I instance_name> -vu", Customers will be able to update the ARSUSER table to support the new capabilities in version 7.1.2.6 or higher levels. Upgrading customers will need to: 1.) Stop the OnDemand Server. 2.) Backup the OnDemand Database or make sure they have a current backup. 3.) Install the 7.1.2.6 or higher Fixpack. 4.) Run "arsdb <-I instance_name> -vu" 5.) Start the OnDemand Server. - Support for Federated Records Manager has been added 2.0.7.1.2.7 Testing - This PTF has been tested on and supports Solaris 10. Migration - See 2.0.7.1.2.6 Migration steps - Tablespace container calculation has been updated to improve performance. Previously, tablespace containers were very small so as not to exceed maximum file sizes. This is no longer a concern on Multi-platform systems. So, a single container will now be created for each table. This change will require users to change their Tablespace filesystems to be large file enabled if they are creating tables that are larger than 4GB. Also, Microsoft SQL Server Filegroups and Oracle Datafiles are now done in the same manner. 2.0.7.1.2.8 Testing - This PTF has been tested on and supports the following new level of DB2 9.1. Migration - Upgrading DB2 Content Manager OnDemand to Version 7.1.2.8 or higher requires changes to the ARSUSER, ARSAG, ARSAPP, ARSLOAD, ARSSEG and ARSSYS tables before the OnDemand Server can be used. If the previous version you are upgrading was before 7.1.2.6, the following error messages are generated when attempting to logon to the OnDemand Server. - DB Error: [Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server] Invalid column name 'passwd_exp'. -- SQLSTATE=42S22, SQLCODE=207, File=arsid.c, Line=3107 - DB Error: [IBM][CLI Driver][DB2/NT] SQL0206N "PASSWD_EXP" is not valid in the context where it is used. SQLSTATE=42703 -- SQLSTATE=42S22, SQLCODE=-206, File=arsid.c, Line=3107 else the error message when staring OD. - DB Error: [IBM][CLI Driver] CLI0112E Error in assignment. SQLSTATE=22005 -- SQLSTATE=22005, SQLCODE=-99999, File=arsag.c, Line=4471 Starting with Version 7.1.2.8, DB2 Content Manager OnDemand now provides a way to modify cache expiration values and support more than 80,000 users. By running "arsdb <-I instance_name> -vu", Customers will be able to update the OnDemand System tables to support the new capabilities in version 7.1.2.8 or higher levels. Upgrading customers will need to: 1.) Stop the OnDemand Server. 2.) Backup the OnDemand Database or make sure they have a current backup. 3.) Install the 7.1.2.8 or higher Fixpack. 4.) Run "arsdb <-I instance_name> -vu" 5.) Start the OnDemand Server. 2.0.7.1.2.9 Testing - This PTF has been tested on and supports the following new level of Microsoft SQL Server 2005. Migration - See 2.0.7.1.2.8 Migration steps 2.0.7.1.2.10 Migration - See 2.0.7.1.2.8 Migration steps -------------End of Installation Notes----------------------------------------- 3. Use arsadmin icu instead. The iconv option is still supported. - Updated ACIF to APAR PK20037 - Improved Folder Query performance. This requires upgrading the OnDemand Client too. - Enabled Filegroups for Microsoft SQL Server - Enabled Datafiles for Oracle - Trace output can be done in XML now - Trace has been added to the arsload command New trace parameters for ARSLOAD Usage: arsload [options] [load_file] Version: 7.1.2.7 -F Trace output format (Default: TEXT) C or CSV T or TEXT X or XML Optional parameter when -T is specified. The default output is text format. The CSV format is a comma separated file useful in spreadsheets. The XML format outputs XML structured data. Using the XML output requires a header and trailer to be added to the trace file to complete the XML syntax and create valid XML which then, combined with .XSL and .DTD files can be viewed in a browser or XML editor. -L Trace level number - add together (Default: 3) 1: Errors 2: Warnings 4: Info 8: Flow Optional parameter when –T is specified. The default level is 3, report errors and warnings which occur during loading. The other levels are info and flow which should only be used under the supervision of support since they may affect performance. Info provides informational trace messages for debugging problems and flow provides function entry and exit information. -T Fully-qualified trace file name When a file is specified, trace is activated for ARSLOAD. If the file already exists, it will be renamed with the current date and time and a new file will be created. 3.1.7.1.2.8: - Improved Batch Admin performance - Improved Application Group, Application, User, Storage Node and Application Data table Query Performance - Raised the restriction on the number of user defined in OnDemand from 80,000 to 1,080,000 - Added the ability for sorting the Document List on the server using ORDER BY with some limitations - Added support for max hits on the server - Added options to specify a filename format to the arsload command -B Format of input filename for parsing WRI WRITER MVS MVS JOB JOBNAME DAT DATASET FOR FORMS YY YYDDD HH HHMMM AG Application Group APP Application IGN Ignore Example: For input files in the format MY_APPLICATION_GROUP.MY_APPLICATION.20061031.ARD format would be written as AG.APP.IGN -J Delimiter character for filename parsing (Default: .) Example: For input files in the format MY_APPLICATION_GROUP-MY_APPLICATION-20061031.ARD with -J "-" format would be written and expected as AG-APP-IGN - Server Based text search for Line Data is now done in Unicode and will now support DBCS EBCDIC Data - Removed the negative exit code from the arsdoc command New exit codes are: 0 = Success 1 = No hits 2 = Syntax error (i.e. invalid parameter or value) 3 = error occurred with specified request (i.e. no permission, specified folder doesn't exist, specified database field doesn't exist, etc.) 4 = unrecoverable error (i.e. operation failed, cannot connect to the server, etc.) - Expiration dates for data are now dynamic and based off the current expiration period in the application group and not tied to the expiration date set at load time any longer. This means it is possible to increase or decrease the amount of time data is kept in the OnDemand cache by simply changing the expiration period in the application group. The ARSMAINT program will now calculate expiration dynamically during processing. 3.1.7.1.2.9: - Changed the server to call ARSUSEC for all users - Updated ACIF to APAR PK36252 - Continued work on Application Group Query Performance -
