Net.Data Administration and Programming Guide for OS/400

Security

Ensure that the user ID under which Net.Data executes has access rights to the database on the machine where the HTTP server resides, including database files and journals (if commitment control is active).

When accessing remote databases, the Net.Data variables LOGIN (user ID) and PASSWORD are used to determine what database resources can be accessed. These variables are ignored when accessing the database on the machine where the HTTP server resides because access to objects is determined by the user-profile that Net.Data is running under.
