Using ICAPI

The Internet Connection API improves performance because it does not go through CGI processing. See details in the Internet Connection Web Programming Guide:

Details on which systems can use ICAPI and additional information is in the README file. These are the steps to configure Net.Data to run with ICAPI on your server:

• The DLL or shared library must be in the server's CGI-BIN directory. For example:

  WWW\CGI-BIN\
  

  The other Net.Data DLLs or shared libraries must be in the server's DLL or shared library directory.

• You must add a service statement to your Web server's configuration file (httpd.conf or httpd.cnf) to call the API. For example:

  Service /cgi-bin/db2www*   c:\www\cgi-bin/dtwicapi:dtw_icapi*
  

• ICAPI has the full compatibility to support the existing applications. Invoking a URL, form, or anchor is the same as for invoking CGI.
