Creating a Web page, an EJB, or a Web Service to deploy your J2C Java bean

The wizard allows you to create a JSP or a faces JSP, an EJB, or a Web Service that wraps the functionality provided by a J2C Java™ bean.
You can create a JSP or a faces JSP, an EJB, or a Web Service to deploy your J2C Java bean. In order to create an artifact to deploy your J2C Java bean, your workspace must already contain a J2C Java bean for you to deploy.

To create a a Web page, an EJB, or a Web Service to deploy your J2C Java bean, complete the following steps:

  1. There are two ways for you to create a JSP, an EJB, or a Web Service to deploy your J2C Java bean:
    1. To start the J2C wizard, from the menu bar, select File > New > Other > J2C.
    2. Select the J2C Java bean for which the deployment artifacts are to be created.
    3. Select Web Page, Web Service, or EJB from J2C Java Bean and click Next
  2. On the Deployment Information page, select Create a Web page, Web Service, or EJB from the J2C bean
  3. If you want to change the RAR settings, select Configure Resource Adapter Deployment. This option is available only if the connection type is not purely managed.
    Note: If you have created a J2C Java bean that only uses managed connection information, that is, if you used the JNDI name for your connection, Configure Resource Adapter Deployment will not be displayed. Since the J2C Java bean already uses the resource adapter deployed on the server, there is no need to deploy resource adapter within the EAR (since it will not be used anyway).
  4. Select the J2EE resource type you want to use for your J2C application deployment method:
    • Simple JSP
    • Faces JSP
    • EJB
    • Web Service
