Applying and Removing Maintenance

The corrective service files in this directory are of the form
Uxxxxxx.tar.Z

This means that they are compressed and tar'ed.  To use these files,
perform the following steps:
 
   ***Precaution***************************************************

   *  Do not have queue managers operating during installation    *
   *  of maintenance on MQSeries for Sun OS.                      *
   *                                                              *
   ****************************************************************
 
To install a PTF update:
 
1. Log in as root (or use the command su).
 
2. Use the endmqm command to end running MQSeries queue managers.
 
3. Create a temporary directory, ie mkdir /tmp/mqs
 
4. Move into the temporary directory, ie cd /tmp/mqs

5. Download the file to your local system in binary mode.

6. Uncompress Uxxxxxx.tar.Z

7. tar -xvf Uxxxxxx.tar
 
8. Use the amqinst.sh command and select option 1,
     Install current patch.
