Sometimes you may get an error message that references a note in a database by its NoteID. For example:
07-15-94 04:14:54 PM Unable to store document in KBASE.NSF (NoteID = 43774) from NSS KBASE.NSF (NoteID = 62754): Network operation was cancelled

When you get the error message, you would like to be able to go find the note to see what the problem is. This tool will allow you to do just that.

A NoteID is a file position that is guaranteed never to change within the database. It does not contain information about which database the note resides in. The NOTEID does not change when the note is modified. Two replica copies of the same note, in two separate replica databases, will most likely have different NOTEIDs.

The Universal Note ID (UNID) identifies all copies of the same note in different replicas of the same database universally (across all servers). If one note in one database has the same UNID as another note in a replica database, then the two notes are replicas of each other.

NOTE: You can copy text from the "Note Header" and "Field Contents" fields into the clipboard, using the Shift-Insert key combination.
