The zip file contains the both the Intel and Alpha versions of the new

Overview of Resource:

A problem has been identified in which the Notes 4.5x or 4.6x Client Install
program disappears on Windows NT, after the Install Options and Install Locations
screen. The problem has been traced to an issue with newer versions of certain
Microsoft NT operating system files not being backward compatible with the
Notes Install program. To avoid the incompatibility issue, Lotus Development
has created a modified version of LSIRUN.EXE, which is part of the Install program.

Please note that this file was intended to address only the issue on Windows NT
described in the technote, "Notes/Domino 4.5x/4.6x Install Program on Windows NT
Machine Disappears" (#166265). It is not intended to resolve any other Notes
Install issues. Please refer to the technote for more information.

This new version of LSIRUN.EXE is included in Notes and Domino Releases 4.5.6a
and later, and 4.6.3 and later. The attached file is intended to be used if the
issue occurs when installing versions of Notes and Domino 4.x prior to these releases.

Instruction on How to Use:

To implement the modified LSIRUN.EXE, one of two methods can be used:

Method 1 - Using the ARJ Utility
Note: To obtain the ARJ utility, search the Internet for "ARJ".

1.	Copy the appropriate \Install directory from the Notes CD to a local or
network hard drive.
2.	Remove the Read-Only attribute from the file named: INSTALL.DSK
3.	Copy the new LSIRUN.EXE file into the copied \Install directory.
4.	Use the ARJ utility to replace the original LSIRUN.EXE file, within the
INSTALL.DSK compressed archive file, with the new one.

Note: This example assumes that the \Install directory is in C:\NotesCD\Install,
and that the ARJ utility is in C:\ARJ. Modify the command to suit your directory
structure. It is important that the ARJ command be executed from within the \Install
directory, and that the new LSIRUN.EXE be in the \Install directory when using ARJ.

The command line to do this is as follows:

a.	Launch a Command Prompt Window.
b.	Switch to the \Install directory with the following command: CD C:\notescd\install
c.	Use the following syntax for the ARJ utility: C:\arj\arj u install.dsk lsirun.exe

5.	Run Install.exe from this directory to Install Notes.

Method 2 - Without the ARJ Utility

1.	Copy the appropriate \Install directory from the Notes CD to a local or network hard drive.
2.	Remove the Read-Only attribute from the file named: INSTALL.LST
3.	Copy the new LSIRUN.EXE file into the \Install directory.
4.	Open INSTALL.LST in a text editor, and, in the section marked [ArchiveFiles], locate the line:

lsirun.exe = lsirun.exe

5.	Cut and paste this line into the section called [FILES] save the file.
(That is, remove this line from the [ArchiveFiles] section, and place it in the [FILES] section.)
6.	Run Install.exe from this directory to Install Notes.
