This document describes the installation
& support policy for the Beta Print-to-Fax Driver for Windows95 and WindowsNT.
The following sections are included:
To install this print driver:
1. Create a new sub-directory and copy W95BETA1.EXE to it.
2. Run W95BETA1.EXE from that sub-directory which unzips the driver files.
3. Open the "Printers" folder in "My Computer".
4. Press "Add Printer".
5. Select "Local Printer".
6. Press "Have Disk".
7. Press "Browse", then navigate to the sub-directory created in step 1.
8. Select the file "OEMSETUP.INF" and press "Open".
9. Press "Next".
10. Select the port "LPT1".
11. The needed files are then copied the Windows\System directory.
12. Delete the sub-directory and it's contents.
13. The Domino Print-to-Fax driver is now available for use. Simply select it for printing in any Windows application.
14. To remove the Print-to-Fax driver, open the "Printers" folder, select the icon for Domino Print-to-Fax and press the "Delete" key.
Caveats: Users must be running a Notes 4.x 32-Bit client.
To install this print driver:
1. Create a new sub-directory and copy NTBETA1.EXE to it.
2. Run NTBETA1.EXE from that sub-directory which unzips the driver files.
3. In the same sub-directory, run INSTALL.EXE (You can ignore the error messages). The program will copy the needed files to the Windows\System32 directory.
4. Delete the sub-directory and it's contents.
5. The Domino Print-to-Fax driver is now available for use. Simply select it for printing in any Windows application.
6. To remove the Print-to-Fax driver, open the "Printers" folder, select the icon for Domino Print-to-Fax and press the "Delete" key.
Caveats: Users must be running a Notes 4.x 32-Bit client & WindowsNT 4.x.
1. A problem exists when canceling a Print-to-Fax request from Notes. When the cancel button is selected in the Domino Print-to-Fax dialog box, faxing is canceled but Notes will report an error. If this process is repeated, an error message will be generated. To correct the problem go to another application (Word Pro, Word Pad, etc.) and use the Domino Print-to-Fax driver. Print-to-Fax will now work correctly in Notes again. Pressing cancel from other applications works correctly.
2. When sending a mail memo from Notes, fonts are rendered incorrectly when using the Print-to-Fax driver. The contents of the mail message are rendered smaller than expected. This only seems to occur if the message is using the "Helv" font (which is the default for mail messages).
The two programs listed above are beta programs. There is available for these products. Should a problem occur, customers may send detailed information about the problem to the following e-Mail location: LBS_Domino_Fax_Server@lotus.com Attempts will be made to duplicate & correct problems prior to the Gold release of the Print-to-Fax driver.
