InterChange Utilities

Included with this InterChange Release are the following special 
utilities, written specifically for administrator's of large post offices.  
More information and optional parameters for each utility are described 
in the following sections.

ARCSYNC	   Compares messages in your Inbox with messages in a 
           given archive.

BBCLR	   Checks every bulletin board for unread messages, and 
           prompts the user with the option to mark them as read.

DUMPBB	   Displays the bulletin boards in a post office.

DUMPDIR	   Displays every user in a post office.

DUMPIBOX   Displays the messages in a user's Inbox.

DUMPPRV	   Displays private mailing lists.

DUMPPUB	   Displays public mailing lists.

FOLDARCH   Archives the messages in folders. 

LISTCHK	   Ensures that every member of a public mailing list is 
           also in the post office Directory.

MLIST      Displays every public mailing list that a user is in.

VIMMSG.RI is the resource file that contains messages for the FOLDARCH utility.
This file must be in the same directory as the FOLDARCH utility.
 
ARCSYNC 
This utility compares messages in your Inbox with messages in a given archive.  
Messages are matched by author, subject, and message time and date.  ARCSYNC 
is useful for DOSMAIL users if you read and archive your messages at 
different times, and wish to be sure that a message is in the archive file 
before it is deleted from the Inbox.  It compares the messages in your 
inbox with messages in a given archive file.  Messages found in both 
locations are deleted from the Inbox.  

            Usage: ARCSYNC /Nname /Ppassword [/Ddirectory]
                    [optional parameters]

              /Nname             -  User Name.
              /Ppassword         -  User Password.
              /Ddirectory        -  Post office drive and directory
                                    (default: M:\CCDATA).

            Optional Parameters

              /AUTO              -  Deletes messages without prompting.
              /?                 -  Displays brief explaination of
                                    command-line parameters.

            If the /AUTO parameter is not used, the program will ask if you 
            want to delete each matching message that it finds.
            If the /AUTO parameter is used, the program will automatically
            delete the message.


BBCLR 
This utility checks every bulletin board for unread messages, and prompts 
whether you want to mark them as read. This is useful if many messages that 
you do not want to see have arrived on one or more system BBSs, or if you are 
a new user and want to start out with no unread messages.


            Usage: BBCLR /Nname /Ppassword [/Ddirectory]
                    [optional parameters]

              /Nname             -  User Name.
              /Ppassword         -  User Password.
              /Ddirectory        -  Post office drive and directory
                                    (default: M:\CCDATA).

            Optional Parameters

              /PREFIX/title      -  Partial bulletin board name to match on.
              /AUTO              -  Marks the messages as read without
                                    prompting.
              /?                 -  Displays brief explaination of
                                    command-line parameters.

            If the prefix is used, the program looks only for bulletin boards
            that begin with the prefix, and ignores all others.
            If the /AUTO parameter is not used, the program will ask if you
            want to mark the messages as read for every bulletin board it
            finds with unread messages.
            If the /AUTO parameter is used, the program will automatically
            mark the messages as read.


DUMPBB 
This utility displays the subject lines of the messages in all or selected 
bulletin boards in a post office.  This utility is useful in batch files.


            Usage: DUMPBB /Nname /Ppassword [/Ddirectory]
                    [optional parameters]

              /Nname             -  User Name.
              /Ppassword         -  User Password.
              /Ddirectory        -  Post office drive and directory
                                    (default: M:\CCDATA).
            Optional Parameters

              /BBOARD/title      -  Displays the messages for this
                                    bulletin board.
              /BRIEF             -  Displays only the bulletin board titles.
              /?                 -  Displays brief explaination of
                                    command-line parameters.

            If the /BBOARD parameter is used, the program will display only
            the given bulletin board.
            If the /BRIEF parameter is not used, the program will display
            the bulletin board title and every message subject in each
            bulletin board.
            If the /BRIEF parameter is used, the progarm will display only
            the bulletin board title.



DUMPDIR 
This utility displays every user or selected user types in the post office 
Directory.

            Usage: DUMPDIR /Nname /Ppassword [/Ddirectory]
                    [optional parameters]

              /Nname             -  User Name.
              /Ppassword         -  User Password.
              /Ddirectory        -  Post office drive and directory
                                    (default: M:\CCDATA).
            Optional Parameters

              /L                 -  Displays only local users.
              /R                 -  Displays only remote users "R".
              /P                 -  Dipslays only post offices "P".
              /S                 -  Displays only remote stand alone
                                    users "r".
              /H                 -  Displays only remote post offices
                                    accessed through another remote
                                    post office used as a hub "p".
              /A                 -  Displays only aliases "A".
              /?                 -  Displays brief explaination of
                                    command-line parameters.



DUMPIBOX 
This utility displays the information about the messages in a user's Inbox.


            Usage: DUMPIBOX /Nname /Ppassword [/Ddirectory]
                    [optional parameters]

              /Nname             -  User Name.
              /Ppassword         -  User Password.
              /Ddirectory        -  Post office drive and directory
                                    (default: M:\CCDATA).
            Optional Parameters

              /BRIEF             -  Displays only the message subject.
              /?                 -  Displays brief explaination of
                                    command-line parameters.

            If the /BRIEF parameter is not used, the program displays the
            message subject, message author, message priority, time and 
            date the message was created, and the message items.
            If the /BRIEF parameter is used, the program displays only
            the message subjects.


DUMPPRV 
This utility displays private mailing lists by dumping  the names and members, 
or just the members, of the user's mailing lists.  If the /MLIST parameter 
is used, the program displays the participants only for the given mailing 
list.   

            Usage: DUMPPRV /Nname /Ppassword [/Ddirectory]
                    [optional parameters]

              /Nname             -  User Name.
              /Ppassword         -  User Password.
              /Ddirectory        -  Post office drive and directory
                                    (default: M:\CCDATA).
            Optional Parameters

              /MLIST/title       -  Display the participants for this
                                    mailing list.
              /BRIEF             -  Display only the mailing list title.
              /?                 -  Displays brief explaination of
                                    command-line parameters.

DUMPPUB 
This utility displays the public mailing lists by dumping the names and 
members, or just the names of the public mailing lists on the post office.  

            Usage: DUMPPUB /Nname /Ppassword [/Ddirectory]
                    [optional parameters]

              /Nname             -  User Name.
              /Ppassword         -  User Password.
              /Ddirectory        -  Post office drive and directory
                                    (default: M:\CCDATA).
            Optional Parameters

              /MLIST/title       -  Display the participants for this
                                    mailing list.
              /BRIEF             -  Display only the mailing list title.
              /?                 -  Displays brief explaination of
                                    command-line parameters.

            If the /MLIST parameter is used, the program displays the
            participants only for the given mailing list.
            If the /BRIEF parameter is not used, the program displays the
            mailing list title and the participants in each mailing list.
            If the /BRIEF parameter is used, the program displays only
            the mailing list titles.


FOLDARCH 
This utility places messages in archive files from the named folders. The 
archive filename is created from the folder name by looking for the first 
space or period in the folder name, truncating the rest and appending ".CCA".

                        TEST                TEST.CCA
                        INVENTORY           INVENTOR.CCA

            Usage: FOLDARCH /Nname /Ppassword [/Ddirectory]
                    [optional parameters]

              /Nname             -  User Name.
              /Ppassword         -  User Password.
              /Ddirectory        -  Post office drive and directory
                                    (default: M:\CCDATA).
            Optional Parameters

              /FOLDER/"title"    -  Archives the messages for the
                                    given folder.
              /FOLDERS           -  Archives the messages for every
                                    folder.
              /ARCHIVE/path      -  Sets <path> as default directory
                                    for archive messages.
              /?                 -  Displays brief explaination of
                                    command-line parameters.

            If the /FOLDER parameter is used, the program archives the
            messages in the given folder.
            If the /FOLDERS parameter is used, the program archives the
            messages in every folder.
            If the /ARCHIVE parameter is used, the archives are placed 
            in this directory.


LISTCHK  
This utility ensures that every member of a public mailing list is also in 
the post office Directory.

            Usage: LISTCHK /Nname /Ppassword [/Ddirectory]
                    [optional parameters]

              /Nname             -  User Name.
              /Ppassword         -  User Password.
              /Ddirectory        -  Post office drive and directory
                                    (default: M:\CCDATA).
            Optional Parameters

              /?                 -  Displays brief explaination of
                                    command-line parameters.



MLIST 
This utility displays every public mailing list that a user is in.  This is 
useful for administrators who are performing post office maintenance, or 
reorganizing a large number of mailing lists.

            Usage: MLIST /Nname /Ppassword [/Ddirectory]
                    [optional parameters]

              /Nname             -  User Name.
              /Ppassword         -  User Password.
              /Ddirectory        -  Post office drive and directory
                                    (default: M:\CCDATA).
            Optional Parameters

              /?                 -  Displays brief explaination of
                                    command-line parameters.




