CC:MAIL FOR WINDOWS - DDE MACROS AND MAIL ENABLING

The following technote applies to cc:Mail for Windows version 1.11 and 2.0.
Included are sample DDE macros written for Ami Pro 3.0, Word for Windows
2.0, Excel 3.0, and Excel 4.0. These macros are designed as examples to
"mail enable" the target applications.

GENERAL DDE INFO:

cc:Mail for Windows version 1.11 DOES NOT support the Paste or Paste-
Clip functions. You may use the Attach function as a substitute for Paste
or Paste-Clip.

AMI PRO DDE MACRO'S & MAIL ENABLING

Enclosed is a macro for Ami Pro version 3.0 (CCMAIL.SMM) that will
mail enable the application. This is the sample macro from the cc:Mail
for Windows 2.0 User's Manual.

Ami Pro 3.0 is already mail-enabled and works fine with cc:Mail for
Windows 1.11 and 2.0. You do not need a special DDE macro for Ami Pro 3.0.
The only potential problem is for users of Ami Pro, cc:Mail and Lotus
Notes. Either cc:Mail or Lotus Notes will be automatically mail
enabled, but not both. The reason for this is that the "SendMail"
function of Ami Pro looks to the [Lotus Applications] section of your
WIN.INI, and this section can only point to one mail engine. Whichever
application you install last becomes the mail engine for "SendMail".

WORD FOR WINDOWS 2.0

All information for this macro is contained within the macro code
(CCMAIL.DOC).

EXCEL 3.0 & 4.0

There are 2 macros included SNDMAIL3.XLM - for Excel 3.0, and
SNDMAIL4.XLM - for Excel 4.0. These are examples only, they must be
modified before they can be used. Copy the appropriate macro to the your
Excel subdirectory and open it. Do Macro-Run from there. For the Excel 4
macro there is a SendMail button you can click on to run it.
