Mail:Please
Remote voice access to your cc:Mail

Product Description

Mail:Please is a complete solution for simple remote access to your cc:Mail
network. It generates messages by a speech synthesis device
(Text-To-Speech), and, as an option, allows users to retrieve mail by fax
(Call Back Mode). The caller simply calls the Mail:Please telephone
number, follows the voice prompts, and Mail:Please reads his messages back
to him!

The telephone is the simplest terminal ever invented, as the keypad
replaces a computer keyboard! With a telephone, anyone can have access to
company information via a voice service. There is no longer the need for
modems, portable computers, or remote access software. With Mail:Please, a
simple telephone is sufficient. Additionally, if the caller has a nearby
fax machine available, cc:Mail users may retrieve a hard copy of their
incoming messages.

The cost of a single port of Mail:Please is comparable to the cost of a
portable computer equipped with a modem and remote access software.
However, Mail:Please allows cc:Mail users the ability to share the same
device, the Mail:Please server. It therefore provides the company
substantial savings.

Mail:Please is accessible from any touch-tone telephone. Remote users are
invited to type their identification number and their password, with a
limited number of unsuccessful attempts. Just before reviewing incoming
mail, Mail:Please announces the number of messages. Repeat, Skip Forward,
Skip Backward are all prompted from a simple voice menu.

Mail:Please is available with an option to receive a hard copy of message
by fax, and is also available in other languages.

Remark! for Microsoft Windows
Voice integration with cc:Mail

Product Description

Simpact offers Remark! for Microsoft Windows, a voice integration product
that allows networked PC users to record, play and manage voice information
within Windows applications.

Remark! for Windows can be used to easily add voice recordings to any
cc:Mail for Windows E-Mail message. These Remark! recordings become file
items and can be played by simply double-clicking. Practical applications
include use of Remark! in such areas as customer service and support,
computer-based training and presentations, document creation and review,
order entry and tracking, legal or medical dictation, loan processing and
insurance claims. For example, the direct integration of verbal data -- tes
timony, telephone conferences, interviews and commentary -- into cc:Mail
messages would enable insurance adjusters to complete claims using textual
data, scanned photographs of accidents, and direct voice input of
statements by claimants, witnesses, and others involved.

Based on Simpact's unique Voice Processing Architecture, Remark! provides
for a highly integrated system that is easier to implement and maintain --
at a lower cost per desktop. The use of existing telephones as a means for
recording and playing back voice annotations presents a natural and
universally understood interface to users and also permits the
confidentiality not provided by speakers associated with a multimedia PC.
Additional hardware is not required in users' PCs since voice and telephony
functions are provided by a server on a local area network.

Remark!, which also works with Windows applications that support Object
Linking and Embedding (OLE) or Dynamic Data Exchange (DDE), makes business
communications more powerful. By adding the sound, intonation and
inflection of voice, users can convey and comprehend information faster and
more effectively than ever before.
