Creating a service based on WSDL

Create a service in WebSphere® Message Broker based on existing WSDL.

Before you start:

Read the concept information about Services.

To create a service based on existing WSDL, complete the following steps:
  1. Open the New Service wizard by using one of the following methods:
    • Click File > New > Service.
    • In the Broker Development view, click New > Start by creating a service.
    • Right-click the white space of the Broker Development view, then click New > Service.
    • If no files are open in the editor view, the Quick Starts wizards are shown; click Start by creating a service.
  2. Enter a name for the service, and optionally a description.
  3. Select Create a service interface by selecting an existing WSDL file, and click Next.
  4. Select existing WSDL from your workspace, or from an external location, and click Next.
  5. Select the WSDL bindings to import, and click Next to view any warnings, or click Finish. You can import only a SOAP over HTTP binding. A service is created with the operations defined in the imported WSDL, and is shown in the service editor. You can expand the service in the Broker Development view to view operations and associated resources.

Next steps:

Implement the operations that are defined in your service interface. For more information, see Implementing a service operation.
