Performing parallel broker migration for a Version 7.0 broker
Parallel broker migration allows a staged migration process by creating a new Version 8.0 broker to run in parallel with your existing Version 7.0 broker, to which you can migrate your application logic.
Before you start:
For the latest details of all supported levels of hardware and software, visit the WebSphere® Message Broker Requirements website.
- Backup your broker resources by following the instructions in Backing up WebSphere Message Broker Version 7.0 resources.
- Install a supported version of WebSphere MQ and migrate your queue managers and other resources, following the instructions that are provided in the WebSphere MQ information center.
- Migrate the WebSphere Message Broker Toolkit by following the instructions in Migrating development resources to WebSphere Message Broker Toolkit Version 8.0.
- Check that you have no aggregations in progress on this broker. When you migrate a broker to Version 8.0, all live data that is being stored for aggregations in progress is lost.
- If the broker runs in a locale that is not listed in Locales, check that the code page is one of the supported code pages, and that the locale is set up correctly.
