Example: Changing the operation mode of your broker

You want to convert from the Standard Edition (standard mode) to the full package (advanced mode).

Contact your IBM® representative to upgrade your license, and change the brokers that you have created to conform to your new license.

  1. Open a command prompt.
    • Linux platformOn Linux and UNIX, run the mqsiprofile command to initialize the command environment.
    • Windows platformOn Windows, click Start > Programs > IBM WebSphere Message Broker 8.0.0.0 > Command Console to open a command console.
  2. Run the following mqsimode command to change the mode of your broker from standard to advanced (where Broker_Name is the name of your broker):
    mqsimode –i localhost –p 1414 –q MB8QMGR –o advanced
    The following messages are displayed:
    BIP1044: Connecting to the broker's queue manager...
    BIP1809: Deploying 'advanced' mode on broker 'Broker_Name'...
    BIP1805: The mode for broker 'Broker_Name' has been changed to 'advanced'.
