Managing message flow resources
You can use applications, libraries, and Message Broker projects to organize your resources.
- To learn about the uses and benefits of applications and libraries, see Applications and libraries.
- To learn more about Message Broker projects, see Message Broker projects.
You can use applications, libraries, and Message Broker projects to build your solution. An application is a container for everything that you need for your solution. A library contains a set of resources that you might want to reuse for other solutions. You can add one or more libraries to an application, then you can deploy your solution by dragging the application onto an execution group.
Message flow projects have been replaced by Message Broker projects for WebSphere Message Broker Version 8.0 onwards. When you import resources from a previous version of WebSphere Message Broker, message flow projects are converted automatically to Message Broker projects. You might want to convert your Message Broker projects to applications or libraries, depending on the way in which you intend to use these resources. For an example of how you might convert migrated projects, see Example: Manual conversion of Version 7.0 resources to applications and libraries.
Starting by creating an application
- Create an application by following the instructions in Creating an application.
- Optional: Create a library by following the instructions in Creating a library.
- Create a message flow in your application by following the instructions in Creating a message flow.
- You can create a default broker schema when you create the message flow, but to create another broker schema, follow the instructions in Creating a broker schema.
- Create other resources that you need in the application or library by following the instructions in Creating resources in an application or Creating resources in a library.
- Include one or more libraries of resources in the application, as described in Adding and removing library references.
- When your application contains all the required resources and libraries, deploy it by dragging it onto an execution group. For more information, see Packaging and deploying.
