Adding a many-to-many mapping

You can add a many-to-many mapping in the following way, having defined both your source and target.

  1. From the Source view, select the mapping sources and target values that you want to map.
  2. Right-click the selected values and select Create Mapping from the pop-up menu.
  3. With a many-to-many mapping, you must define how the assignment is to be made to the target. To do this, click the Target Value for the assignment, and then click the box that appears at the end of the row. The Compose Expression editor appears, and you can qualify your assignment. See Configuring a mapping.
  4. When you have completed your actions on this screen, click OK to return to the Overview view.

Once the values have been assigned, use the Compose Expression editor to describe the conditions when the mappings should occur.

In the Compose Expression editor, you can add mapping expressions that refer to sources and targets that have not been included as mapping inputs.

Many-to-many mappings are available only for database-targeted mappings. For more information on when to use many-to-many mappings, see Many-to-many mapping.
