Creating the User Name Server PDSE

This is part of the larger task of creating a User Name Server on z/OS.

Create the User Name Server PDSE, for example using option 3.2 on ISPF. An example PDSE name is WMQIV21.MQP1UNS.CNTL. Allocate a data set with:
  • Eight directory blocks
  • 15 tracks (or 1 cyl) of 3390 DASD with a record format of fixed blocked 80
  • A suitable block size (for example 27920)
  • Data set type library

Enter the fully qualified name of the User Name Server PDSE into the mqsicompcif key COMPONENT_PDS when you edit the CIF in step 4, Editing the Customization Input File (mqsicompcif) for a User Name Server. Make a note of it in Customization planning checklist for z/OS.
