Implementing a service error handler subflow

Implement the error handlers that are defined in your service interface.

Before you start:

Create a service by importing a WSDL, or create a service from scratch and define the service interface. For more information, see Creating a service based on WSDL, or Creating a service and Defining a service interface.

You can edit the service interface by using the Interface tab of the service editor to define further operations or specify names and types of existing operations. For more information, see Service editor.

A service might encounter errors such as message failure or timeout, as with message flows.

Error handlers that you can implement as subflows are provided in order to handle any errors that occur with your service. For more information on error handling in WebSphere Message Broker, see Handling errors in message flows.

Complete the following tasks to implement an error handler subflow:

  1. Open the service in the service editor by double-clicking the Service Description in the Broker Development view. The service overview opens in the service editor.
  2. Error handlers that are available to implement are displayed below the operations that are defined in your interface. Click on an error handler to open the embedded subflow editor and implement the error handler as a subflow.
  3. Use the breadcrumb navigation at the top of the editor to return to the service overview.

Next steps:

A default HTTP binding is generated when the service is created. To use the default binding, deploy the service when you have implemented all defined operations of your service. For more information, see Packaging and deploying.

To instead use your own HTTP binding, see Generating a service SOAP/HTTP binding.
