Graphical Data Mapping editor

You use the Graphical Data Mapping editor to create and edit graphical data maps.

You can use the Graphical Data Mapping editor to take input (source) objects and transform them in some way before saving the resulting output (target) objects.

Here is an example of the Graphical Data Mapping editor. The input objects are shown on the left side of the canvas, and the output on the right side. You can create connections between the input and output elements by clicking on the grab handle Grab handle icon, which appears when you point to an element, and dragging the mouse to the element that you want to connect to. You can do this either from left to right or from right to left. The properties of the elements are shown in the Properties pane.

The Graphical Mapping editor has an input object column and an output object column

Wizards and dialog boxes are provided for tasks such as adding mappable elements, working with ESQL, and working with submaps. Mappings that are created with the Graphical Data Mapping editor are automatically validated and compiled, ready for adding to a broker archive (BAR) file, and subsequent deployment to WebSphere® Message Broker.
