Using the DICOM test application
You can use the DICOM test application to test that you are able to send DICOM images to an SCP and receive DICOM images from an SCU.
Before you start:
- You must have an existing application or library in which to store your DICOM test application, see Creating an application and Creating a library in the WebSphere® Message Broker documentation.
IBM® WebSphere Message Broker Connectivity Pack for Healthcare includes a DICOM test application. The DICOM test application is
used to send DICOM images
to a Service Class Provider (SCP) and receive DICOM images from a Service
Class User (SCU). The DICOM test
application provides some basic DICOM verification and test
capability but does not have all the options that are available with
the DICOMInput and DICOMOutput nodes (such as
detailed configuration of presentation contexts). You can use the DICOM test application to
verify the connectivity between your broker and the DICOM SCU and DICOM SCP before you create
your message flows. You can also use the DICOM test application to
create a set of DICOM XML
messages to use in a Data Analysis project. For more information about
analyzing data in message flows, see Analyzing healthcare data in message flows.
You used the DICOM test
application to test the sending and receiving of DICOM images.
Note: The DICOM test
application also includes an additional tab, Web Service,
which you can use with the Healthcare: Web service to DICOM pattern to send
and receive web service messages. For more information about the Healthcare: Web service to DICOM pattern, see Healthcare: Web Service to
DICOM.
