Developing message flow applications by using the Message Broker Java API

Write Java™ code that uses the Message Broker Java API to develop message flow applications.

Before you start:

If you are not familiar with message flow concepts, message model concepts, and common tasks to manage message flow resources, see Message processing overview.

You can write Java code that uses the Message Broker Java API to create message flow applications. You can run the code on any computer that has a compatible Java Runtime Environment. You do not need to install the WebSphere® Message Broker Toolkit to run your code.

To create a message flow application by using the Message Broker Java API, complete the following steps:

  1. Configure your environment to run code that uses the Message Broker Java API, see Configuring an environment for running Message Broker Java API applications.
  2. Write your Java code. For reference information about the Message Broker Java API, see Message Broker Java API. For examples of code that uses the Message Broker Java API, see Examples of Message Broker Java API code.
  3. Compile and run your Java code by using your Java development tools.
