Samples

Samples installed from either the product or from the Web are based on real business problems to demonstrate the capabilities of WebSphere® ESB.

Samples included with the product

There is currently one WebSphere ESB sample available from the Samples Gallery, which you can install with the product. This sample demonstrates services being integrated to provide new features for customers. The sample includes:

  • A description of the business problem and how WebSphere ESB is used to solve it.
  • A description of the technology used to build the sample.
  • Links to launch the sample application.

The Samples Gallery is available to install during WebSphere ESB installation and is selected for installation by default. The sample is installed in the install_root/samples directory.

To access the WebSphere ESB samples:
  1. Start the server.
  2. Start the Samples Gallery by selecting Samples Gallery on the First Steps panel.
  3. The WebSphere ESB samples are listed as installed samples in the Samples Gallery.
  4. From the navigation menu on the left, click Installed Samples > Business Integration and click on a sample.

Samples available on the Web

The product has a samples download site, described as the online Samples Gallery, that lists additional samples. New WebSphere ESB samples are added here periodically. You can access the samples Web site at http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/bpcsamp/index.html.

Note: The samples are for demonstration purposes only and might be updated in subsequent releases. The code provided is not intended to run in a secured production environment.
