The Comments widget

Use the Comments widget to manage notes and observations that are associated with the information currently being displayed on this page.

You use the Comments widget in conjunction with the Draft Artifacts widget. In a typical usage scenario, you would select a process (or another form of information) from the Publisher Navigator, examine it in the Process Viewer, and use the Comments widget to make remarks on specific areas of it.

The Comments widget includes the following sections:
  1. Configuration view
    Use this view to specify the display properties of the comments widget.
    To launch this view, click the widget control icon ( The widget control icon. ), and select Configure.
    In the configuration view, enable the check boxes for the content that you would like to conceal in the comments widget, and click OK.

  2. Comments management area
    Use the buttons and fields in this area to exercise handle comments.
    To create a comment, click New Comment,
    To remove an existing one, click Delete Comment.
    To copy the details of a comment to your local system, click Export.
    To abridge or scope the range of comments that are shown, select an appropriate setting in the Filter by: drop-down list.
  3. Attributes bar
    The attributes bar uses columns to sort the properties associated with each comment.
      Subject Displays the subject line associated with the comment.
      Status The following status states are possible:
    The status open icon. Open
    The status closed icon. Closed
      Priority The following priority states are possible:
    The high priority icon. High
    The medium priority icon. Medium
    The low priority icon. Low
      Comment type The following comment types are possible:
    The problem comment icon. Problem
    The question comment icon. Question
    The suggestion comment icon. Suggestion
    The other comment icon. Other
    The number of responses icon Number of responses The number in this column indicates the number of responses associated with this comment.
    Sort ascending icon This icon indicates that the column on which it appears is currently being sorted in ascending order.
    Sort descending icon This icon indicates that the column on which it appears is currently being sorted in descending order.
  4. Comments list
    Use this column to view the comments that are currently associated with the selected element.
    To view a comment, click the subject line to launch the comment view. From here, you can respond to the comment by clicking Reply or, if you are the author of the comment, you can make changes by clicking Edit.
    If a comment has a plus (+) sign, then there is a response associated with it. If the subject title has the prefix "Re:" then the listing is a response.
    If a comment has an attachment icon (The attachment icon) beside it, then there is either a file or URL included with it.
