This section describes how to prepare for, install,
and maintain the IBM® WebSphere® Process Server V6.2
and WebSphere Enterprise
Service Bus V6.2 Feature Pack. Instructions are provided for Linux®, i5/OS®, UNIX®, Windows® and z/OS® systems.
Installing the feature pack on Linux, UNIX, and Windows
Install the feature pack on an existing installation of
a supported WebSphere Business
Process Management, version 6.2.0.1 or later, product using the graphical
user interface.
Installing the feature pack on i5/OS from a System i server
Perform a silent, or background, installation of the feature
pack from your System i® server
onto an existing installation of WebSphere Process
Server or WebSphere Enterprise
Service Bus (WebSphere ESB),
version 6.2.0.1 or later, by using a file called a response file.
The silent installation uses your responses from this file. The response
file passes command-line options to the installation program. An example
response file, responsefile.wpswesbfep.txt, is
supplied with default values that you must customize.
Installing the feature pack on z/OS
Installing the WebSphere Process Server V6.2 and WebSphere Enterprise Service Bus V6.2 feature pack on z/OS installs the widgets for Administration
and Human Task Management that run in Business Space powered by WebSphere. You can then deploy
and configure the widgets. If you install the feature pack in a network
deployment environment, you must install it on the deployment manager
and on every node.
Installing the feature pack in the Unit Test Environment
Install the feature pack in an existing installation of IBM WebSphere Process Server Unit Test Environment
(UTE), version 6.2.0.1, or WebSphere Enterprise
Service Bus UTE, version 6.2.0.1, using the IBM Installation Manager.
Installing feature pack maintenance packages on Linux, UNIX, and Windows
You can use the IBM Update
Installer for WebSphere Software
to install interim fixes and fix packs, collectively known as maintenance
packages. On all platforms except i5/OS,
the Update Installer runs with a graphical user interface.
Installing feature pack maintenance packages on z/OS
Install the feature pack maintenance packages on an existing
installation of IBM WebSphere Process Server or WebSphere Enterprise Service
Bus for z/OS. The feature pack
maintenance package contains a complete installation of the feature
pack. The feature pack maintenance package can therefore be used to
upgrade an existing feature pack installation or used to install the
latest version of feature pack onto WebSphere Process Server or WebSphere Enterprise Service Bus for z/OS.
