WebSphere Enterprise Service Bus for z/OS, Version 6.2.0 Operating Systems: z/OS

Migrating to WebSphere Enterprise Service Bus

You can migrate to WebSphere® ESB from an earlier version. Migrating refers to the process of moving from one product to another or one version of a product to another while preserving product configuration information and user applications, thus enabling the existing applications and configuration data to be used in the new environment.

With migration, the new product or new version of the product is installed alongside the older product. Then, data is copied from the old version of the product to the new version of the product. Migrating is different from updating, in which out-of-date files or data of an existing installation are replaced with current information. Fix packs are an example of an update.

You must migrate your existing applications and configuration information from the previous version of WebSphere ESB to the newer version of WebSphere ESB in order to use them in the new environment.

Note: For information about migrating WebSphere Adapters, refer to the documentation for your adapter in the WebSphere Integration Developer documentation in the IBM® WebSphere Business Process Management Version 6.2 information center.
