WebSphere Enterprise Service Bus for z/OS, Version 6.2.0 Operating Systems: z/OS

Installing Message Service clients

If you want to enable C, C++, or .NET applications to participate in interactions with WebSphere® ESB, you can use the Message Service clients provided with WebSphere ESB. This section describes how to install the Message Service clients.

About this task

You can extend interaction between applications and WebSphere ESB by using the Message Service clients provided with WebSphere ESB:
  • IBM® Message Service Client for C/C++ extends the JMS model for messaging to C and C++ applications.
  • IBM Message Service Client for .NET enables .NET applications to participate in JMS-based information flows.

The way you start the installation can vary depending on the type of installation you are using. The details for each method are described in the topic Starting the installation. When you install the Message Service clients provided with WebSphere ESB for z/OS®, install from the Message Service client CD. You can find further information about installing Message Service clients on Linux®, AIX®, Solaris, or Windows® platforms in the sub-topics.

You can also install and use the J2EE client support from WebSphere Application Server, including Web services Client, EJB Client, and JMS Client. For information about installing J2EE client support, see Installing Application Client for WebSphere Application Server.
