Grant access to business objects

As the IT administrator, Bill can explore the WebSphere® Business Services Fabric repository and grant user access to an application.

Imagine that John, as the owner of the Policy Renewal process, wants to change a service. To do so, he must check all of the current applications that use this service. Doing that, he notices that he is not authorized to change one of the applications. So he sends an e-mail to Bill, the IT administrator for the WebSphere Business Services Fabric repository.
The following process occurs:
  1. Bill opens the Business Service Lifecycle Management business space, finds application that he is looking for, and notices that John is not one of the authorized users.
  2. He adds John as one of the authorized users of the application, which makes John the authorized user to all of the services, policies, and vocabularies that the application uses.
  3. Moments later, John receives an email reply from Bill announcing that the new access has been granted.
  4. John returns to the Policy Renewal application and is now able to see the new application and therefore complete the Policy Renewal process.

Grant access to a business service

Bill can explore the repository and grant someone access to a business service.

John wants to add a new service called Issue Policy to the application flow, but he has been told that this service has been already developed by another team although he could not find the service in the Application Flow editor. Therefore, he sends an e-mail to Bill requesting access to the Issue Policy business service. The following process occurs:
  1. Bill opens the Business Service Lifecycle Management business space and finds the Issue Policy business service, which John is looking for. He notices that John is not one of the authorized user.
  2. He adds John as one of the authorized users, which makes John the authorized user of the policies and vocabularies that the service uses.
  3. John receives an e-mail reply from Bill informing him that he has been granted access to the Issue Policy business service.
  4. John returns to the Policy Renewal application, sees the new service, and completes the Policy Renewal project.
