Use Security Manager to assign members (users
and groups) to roles associated with the Business Calendar Manager module.
These module roles determine the level of access that members have to timetables.
You can also use Security Manager to assign system roles.
A timetable is a schedule of times that indicates
availability (such as Monday to Friday).
When a timetable is created,
three module roles are automatically associated with the timetable: Reader,
Writer, or Owner.
- The Reader of a timetable can view the timetable, view the
time intervals for the timetable, and view references to other timetables.
- The Writer can perform all the tasks that a reader can perform.
In addition, writers can create, modify, and delete time intervals for a timetable.
- The Owner of a timetable can perform all the tasks that a
writer can perform. In addition, owners can grant other members permission
to edit or view their timetables by assigning the Reader and Writer roles
to those members.
Two system roles are associated with Security Manager.
- The BPMAdmin is the overall administrator for Security Manager and has
the authority to assign a user or group to the BPMRoleManager role.
- The BPMRoleManager has authority to assign users or groups to module roles
(Owner, Writer, and Reader).
