A Business Leader space is a work area that you share with the members of your team. When you create a Business Leader document, all users in your Business Leader space can automatically view and make changes to your document after you are finished editing it.
You can control the type of access that users in other Business Leader spaces have to your documents. After you have finalized a Business Leader document with your immediate team, you might want to share your document with other users in other Business Leader space, either so that they can view your document, link to your document from their own documents, or make updates to your document.
Business Leader documents are stored in a repository. There are three levels of access for a Business Leader document in the repository:
Document access is granted to an entire Business Leader space, which means that all team members in a space have the same access level to a document while working in that space. By default, any new documents that you create within a space are automatically editable by any members of the Business Leader space where you created the document. Only one team member can edit a document at a time. While one person has a document open for editing, others can view the document, but the document is read-only.
You can make a document available to other Business Leader spaces for read access by making it a public document in the repository. Documents that have been made public in the repository are called public documents, while documents that have not been made public are called draft documents.
You can also continue to work on public documents, keeping the public version of the document available to other Business Leader spaces while your updated, in-progress version is viewable only to users with edit access.
After a document is made public in the repository, it is visible to other Business Leader spaces for viewing and referencing. You can allow users in other Business Leader spaces to make changes to one of your public documents in the repository by granting their space edit access.
Edit access for a document is granted by the document owners. The owners of a document might include the document creator, as well as other users who have been assigned as owners of the document.
If another space requires edit access to a document, they can make an access request which is sent to the document owner or owners. You can view the list of access requests for documents that you own in the Document Access Control page of your Business Leader home page, and either grant the access to the requesting space, or reject the request.
The Document Access Control page is also where you can unlock documents that are being edited by other users.
You can also view Business Leader documents that other teams have made public in the repository so that you can view and reference these documents from your own maps.
