Uninstalling Message Service Client for C/C++

An uninstaller is provided to remove Message Service Client for C/C++ from your system.

Why and when to perform this task

To remove Message Service Client for C/C++ from your AIX, Linux, Solaris, or Windows system, follow this procedure. The Uninstaller also removes GSKit from your system.

Steps for this task

  1. On AIX, Linux or Solaris, log in as root. On Windows, log on as an administrator.
  2. Run the uninstaller:
    • AIX On AIX, run the file called uninstaller that is in the directory install_dir/_uninst.
    • Linux On Linux, run the file called uninstaller that is in the directory install_dir/_uninst.
    • Solaris On Solaris, run the file called uninstaller that is in the directory install_dir/_uninst.
    • Windows On Windows, run the file uninstaller.exe that is in the directory install_dir\_uninst.

    install_dir is the directory where you have installed Message Service Client for C/C++.

    The Uninstaller window opens and displays the following message:
    Welcome to the IBM Message Service Client for C/C++ installation wizard
  3. Click Next.

    The Uninstaller window displays details of what is about to be uninstalled.

  4. Click Next to start the removal of the XMS.
    The Uninstaller window confirms that GSKit and XMS are being uninstalled. When GSKit and XMS have been removed successfully, the window displays the following message:
    The InstallShield Wizard has successfully uninstalled IBM Message Service Client
    for C/C++. Choose Finish to exit the wizard.
  5. Click Finish to close the installation wizard.

Result

You have now successfully removed the Message Service Client for C/C++ from your system.
