User roles for creating alerts

When you create alerts from a dashboard, the alerts are referred to as business user alerts. The alert functions that a business user can perform from a dashboard are based on the KPIs user roles.

The follow table lists the business user alerts tasks available based on KPI user roles.

About sharing alerts
  • When you are creating or editing an alert, and you select a private KPI as a condition, sharing becomes disabled and the notification list will be reset.
  • You cannot subscribe other users to an alert that is not shared. If you clear the Share alert check box so that the alert is no longer shared, the notification list will be reset.
  • A Personal KPI-Administrator cannot share an alert and therefore cannot subscribe other users to an alert. When a Personal KPI-Administrator copies an alert that other users are subscribed to, the subscription list will be reset for that copy of the alert and the Share alert option becomes disabled.
  • You can only subscribe other users to an alert when an alert is shared. When the alert is not shared, the option to add recipients on the Notification tab is disabled.
  • When you copy an alert, you become the owner of that copy and you are automatically subscribed as a recipient. A Personal KPI-Administrator in this scenario would be the only subscriber because sharing is not permitted for this role type.
