preparation to ensure that your system meets prerequisite requirements,
installing software, and additional configuration tasks to fully prepare
your runtime environment.
Preparing to install WebSphere ESB

for z/OS installation
and configuration includes planning activities for WebSphere ESB as
well as WebSphere Application Server
for z/OS.
Installing WebSphere Application Server
Before you can install WebSphere ESB for z/OS, you must
install and configure WebSphere Application Server
for z/OS. If you have an existing WebSphere Application Server
for z/OS network deployment
cell, create a new empty WebSphere Application Server node on which to install WebSphere ESB; you can then
federate the node into the existing cell.
Installing WebSphere ESB
The installation script creates the WebSphere ESB for z/OS definitions
that enable the product for use.
Configuring WebSphere ESB for z/OS
A configuration script augments a node to add support for WebSphere ESB for z/OS functions.
You must decide on the topology of your WebSphere ESB for z/OS cell and then
define and augment all the nodes that will run WebSphere ESB for z/OS functions.
Coexisting
Coexistence is the ability of two or more entities to function
in the same system or network.
Applying product maintenance WebSphere ESB for z/OS is
installed and configured into a WebSphere Application Server.
Consequently, you apply product maintenance to WebSphere ESB for z/OS using
the WebSphere Application Server product and techniques.
