Bookmarking topics in this documentation

Bookmarking will save topics so that you can find them again later. A topic is one unit of information—one entry in the table of contents.

Add a browser bookmark Use your Web browser capabilities.
  1. Display the topic by clicking it in either the table of contents or the search results list.
  2. Right-click the topic to bring focus to the content area in which the topic is displayed.
  3. Add the bookmark. Typically, you need to select one of these options:
    • Add Bookmark
    • Bookmark This Page
    • Add to Favorites
Retrieve the topic later, from your Favorites or Bookmarks list.

Add an information center bookmark For an information center deployed on a server and viewed through Internet Explorer over an intranet or the Internet, you can save bookmarks for topics in the information center. The bookmarks are saved to your Internet Explorer Favorites menu. For an information center installed and viewed locally on your machine, the bookmarks are saved to the Bookmarks view in the left hand side of the user interface.

To set a bookmark for the topic currently in the Topic pane, click the Bookmark Document icon (Bookmark icon) above the right-hand side of the interface. If you are viewing a remote information center in Internet Explorer, the Favorites window will open and you can save the topic in one of your Favorites folders. If you are viewing an information center running locally on your machine, the bookmark is saved to the Bookmarks view of the information center.
