WebSphere Enterprise Service Bus for z/OS, Version 6.2.0 Operating Systems: z/OS

Migrating WebSphere applications

You should not have to modify any existing WebSphere® ESB applications to migrate them. However, more information about migrating different types of WebSphere applications is available in the WebSphere Application Server Information Center.

Your applications–that is, any applications not provided with the WebSphere ESB product–are binary-compatible for the migration scenarios supported. (Refer to Overview of migrating for supported migration scenarios.) You should not have to modify any part of the application to have it run on the newer version of WebSphere ESB.
Note: For information about migrating WebSphere Adapters, refer to the documentation for your adapter in the WebSphere Integration Developer documentation in the IBM® WebSphere Business Process Management Version 6.2 information center.

For more information about migrating certain types of WebSphere applications, see Migrating WebSphere Applications and its subsidiary topics in the WebSphere Application Server Information Center. Because WebSphere ESB is based upon WebSphere Application Server, the same information applies.

For information about migrating WebSphere Adapters, refer to the documentation for your adapter in the WebSphere Integration Developer documentation in the IBM WebSphere Business Process Management Version 6.2 information center.

Note that applications developed on a more recent version of WebSphere ESB will not run on older versions. For details about run-time compatibility, see Development and deployment version levels.
