If the help system does not start, some things you can do
are:
Procedure
- Check the workspace log, to see if there are messages that
help identify the problem.
- Check that the command window for the help system is displayed.
If it displays briefly then disappears, there may be a conflict with
another help system or another process using the same port.
- If starting in stand-alone mode, try restarting the help system.
- If starting in Infocenter mode, check that the port that the help
system should use is not used by other processes. If needed, change
the -port number for the help system
- If the command window for the help system is displayed,
try stopping the help system. If the command window is still displayed,
there might be a problem with the Java™ process
of the help system. You can remove the Java process,
then restart the help system; for example, kill the Java process or restart the system on which
the help system is installed.
