WebSphere Business Space powered by WebSphere, Version 6.2.0

Globalization considerations

The visual appearance of the dashboards represents the national and cultural differences of its users. The design of WebSphere® Business Monitor dashboards addresses such differences as calendar, language, and time in different countries and regions.

WebSphere Business Monitor dashboards support only the Gregorian calendar for date selection. The Gregorian calendar is used to specify a date range for generating a report or retrieving information. This calendar is used in Reports, Instances, and the Export Values and KPI Manager utilities.

The language settings control the language and formats of displayed data in the dashboards. Interface data, such as fields and labels, is written in English. The format of displayed data within the dashboards is affected if the language changes. For example, if you select the Arabic language, the decimal numbers appear in Arabic format: a comma is used instead of a period as the decimal sign. The calendar months also change to Arabic, regardless of the calendar type.

The language displayed in Business Space is the language that your browser is set to. If more than one language is defined in the browser, the first language in the list is displayed. If the first language is not available, the next language defined is displayed, and so forth.

The time zone used in dashboards is that of the dashboard server. In order for time stamps to be displayed correctly in the dashboard server, the dashboard server, WebSphere Business Monitor server, and the database server must all be in the same time zone.
