Condition descriptions

When creating an alert from a dashboard, you must choose the condition for which you want to be alerted. For example, you want to create an alert for when the number of orders for the year drops below the target. The target number is defined in the KPI. The condition, in this example, is "drops below the target". Condition options for creating an alert are described in the following table.

Condition Description
Above range

The value for the condition is above a KPI range. When you select this condition, you also select a range from the Value column of the conditions table.
For example, the Sales KPI might have a low range defined as 0 through 30. A medium range of 30 through 100. And a high range of 100 through 200.
If you choose Above range and then specify the Medium range in the value column, then the meaning of the alert is:  "Send an alert when the Sales KPI is above the medium range."
As a result, any time the value is checked and found to be more than 100, an alert is generated.

Below range The value for the condition is below a KPI range. When you select this condition, you also select a range from the Value column of the conditions table. It works similarly to the "Above range" condition.
Leaves range high The value for the condition rises out a given range. When you select this condition, you also select a range from the Value column of the conditions table.
Leaves range low

The value for the condition falls out of a given range. When you select this condition, you also select a range from the Value column of the conditions table.
For example, the Sales KPI could be in the medium range (30 through 100), and it might then leave that range and go lower (below 30). This condition would catch that.
If you choose Leaves range low, and then specify the Medium range in the Value column, then the meaning of an alert is:  "Alert me when the Sales KPI leaves the medium range and goes lower."

Above equals The value for the condition is above or equal to the value that you define. When you select this condition, you must specify a value in the Value column of the conditions table.
Below equals The value for the condition is below or equal to the value that you define. When you select this condition, you must specify a value in the Value column of the conditions table.
Equals The value for the condition is equal to the value that you define. When you select this condition, you must specify a value in the Value column of the conditions table.
Above target The value for the condition is above the KPI target. The target value for the KPI is automatically displayed in the Value column of the conditions table.
Below target The value for the condition is below the KPI target. The target value for the KPI is automatically displayed in the Value column of the conditions table.
Equals target The value for the condition is equal to the KPI target. The target value for the KPI is automatically displayed in the Value column of the conditions table.
Above equals target The value for the condition is above or equal to the KPI target. The target value for the KPI is automatically displayed in the Value column of the conditions table

An example of this condition when the KPI target value is 46, could be: "Create an alert when the number of problems for the year is above or equal to 46".

Below equals target The value for the condition is below or equal to the KPI target. The target value for the KPI is automatically displayed in the Value column of the conditions table.
