Stopping stand-alone servers

Stop a stand-alone process server before modifying certain configurations for the server or the modules deployed on it.

Before you begin

Make sure that there is no work in progress; performance monitoring infrastructure counters can indicate whether all queued work is complete. In addition, prevent new work from starting by disabling HTTP and IIOP traffic and quiescing the service integration bus.

About this task

To stop a stand-alone server, perform the following steps.
Procedure
  1. Stop the server with one of the following methods.
    • Use the stopServer command.
    • Use the z/OS STOP command.
  2. Verify that the server has stopped by checking the SYSPRINT DD statement of the WebSphere® ESB started task for the message Server server_name stop completed.
