WebSphere Enterprise Service Bus for z/OS, Version 6.2.0 Operating Systems: z/OS

Configuring the recovery subsystem for the migrated deployment environment

If you are migrating from version version 6.0.2 to version 6.2.x you need to configure the clusters / servers in the migrated deployment environment to manage failed events.

Before you begin

Before you configure the recovery subsystem for the migrated deployment environment make sure you have configured the common database and that you have created all the database tables.

Stop the server/cluster before running the command.

About this task

This task configures clusters or servers to manage failed events and uses the wsadmin command.

For reference information on configRecoveryForCluster, see configRecoveryForCluster command.

For reference information on configRecoveryForServer, see configRecoveryForServer command.

Procedure
  1. Open a command window.

    The wsadmin command can be found at either the <ESB>/profiles/<dmgr profile>/bin directory, or the <ESB>/bin directory.

  2. At the command prompt, enter the wsadmin command to enter the wsadmin environment.
  3. Enter $AdminTask configRecoveryForCluster command to configure a cluster to manage failed events or enter $AdminTask configRecoveryForServer to configure a server to manage failed events

    Run the command on each cluster/Server where Service Component Architecture (SCA) modules are installed. Running the command configures SCA for supporting Failed Event Management.

    In most cases you will need to run this command on the Application Cluster but not on the Messaging Cluster in a clustered environment.

Example

This example configures recovery on the Application Cluster (AppCluster):
$AdminTask configRecoveryForCluster { -clusterName AppCluster }
This example configures recovery on the Application Cluster (AppCluster) and Messaging Engine Cluster:
$AdminTask configRecoveryForCluster {-clusterName AppCluster -remoteMELocation WebSphere:cluster=MECluster}

This example configures recovery on the server (AppServer) and AppNode

$AdminTask configRecoveryForServer {-serverName AppServer -nodeName AppNode}
$AdminTask configRecoveryForServer {-serverName AppServer -nodeName AppNode
-remoteMELocation WebSphere:node=MENode,server=MEServer}

This example configures recovery on the server (AppServer) and AppNode:

$AdminTask configRecoveryForServer {-serverName AppServer -nodeName AppNode
-remoteMELocation WebSphere:node=MENode,server=MEServer}
