WebSphere

This information applies to feature pack. To use what is described, you must have installed the optional feature pack Installing the feature pack on z/OS

Installing the WebSphere® Process Server V6.2 and WebSphere Enterprise Service Bus V6.2 feature pack on z/OS® , version 6.2.0.1 or later, installs the widgets for Administration and Human Task Management that run in Business Space powered by WebSphere. You can then deploy and configure the widgets. If you install the feature pack in a network deployment environment, you must install it on the deployment manager and on every node.

Before you begin
Before you install the feature pack, perform the following tasks:
About this task
The feature pack is made up of sets of widgets that you can use with Business Space. The WebSphere products you have in your environment determine which of the sets of widgets you can use:
Procedure
  1. Download the feature pack binary package (.tar file) from the following Web site. You must have a registered IBM® ID and password to gain access.
  2. Follow the instructions on the web site and save the tar file to a folder.
Note: Downloads for WebSphere Enterprise Service Bus for z/OS and WebSphere Process Server for z/OS are in separate packages. Each contains only the supported features for that product.
  3. Use binary FTP to copy the .tar file to a working directory in USS on the target z/OS image. For example:
cd directory the tar file is in on your PC
ftp name of target z/OS image
cd directory that you want the file to go in
    bin
    put name of tar file
The Transfer completed successfully message is displayed when the copy operation finishes.
  4. In USS change to the administrator user ID. For example:
    su wsadmin
  5. In the target z/OS image, extract the feature pack to the WAS_home directory of each node that requires the function. For example:
    cd WAS_home
tar -oxvfp name of tar file
    Overwrite identically named files.
Note: The feature pack installs new binaries and does not update binaries from underlying products. Therefore existing files that have similar names belong to an earlier installation of the feature pack.
Results
The feature pack is installed. You can verify the success of the installation by running the versionInfo shell script from the bin directory. For example:
cd path to the default bin directory
versionInfo.sh

Look in the output under the Product List section and check that WPSWESBFEP is listed as installed. If WPSWESBFEP is not listed the installation failed. You can uninstall the feature pack by following the Uninstalling the feature pack from z/OS instructions.

What to do next

Run the deployment scripts that are associated with the features that you installed. These scripts enable functions that are provided by the feature pack. See Deploying and configuring widgets for the feature pack for information.
