As an alternative to using the installation wizard, you can run
the installation from the command line.
Why and when to perform this task
Running the installer from a command prompt allows you to finely
control the installation. The following options are available:
- Perform a console-based, text-based installation.
- Record a response file using the runtime command line option -record.
- Perform an unattended, or silent, installation, which requires no interaction
with the wizard by invoking the installer from a command prompt using the
runtime command line option -silent. The silent install uses the response
file that you specify when you type in the command.
To use any of these options, type the appropriate command as described
in the sub-topics.
