When you create your strategy map, you can define the measures
that help you identify the success criteria for a particular goal.
These measures can be tied to the specific activities or processes
where the performance data is generated. You can link to the specific
process or activity that a measure is tied to, and you can link from
an activity or process back to the related measure.
About this task
For example, JKAir might define a goal to provide reliable
baggage handling service, and specify a measure that says "Baggage
redirection is less than .1% ". To associate this measure to the Baggage
Handling process, they can link from the measure in the strategy map
to the Baggage Handling process map. They can also add the baggage
redirection measure to the Baggage Handling process details.
- To add a measure to a process or activity, open the process
map that you want to add the measure to.
- Select a specific map element to associate
the measure with, or click any blank area in the Diagram view.
- In the Details view, expand the Measures section and click Add
measure.
- You can select from the list of strategy maps within your
Business Leader space, or search the repository for public strategy
map documents.
- Select the strategy map that contains the measure that
you want to link to. From the elements that appear on the right, select
the measures that are tied to your process or activity.
Example
Note: Measures that are associated with processes or activities
are not exported in the WebSphere Business Modeler export.
