Adding links between maps and map elements

You can create links between different maps, or between elements of different maps. For example, you might want to create a link between a particular measure in a strategy map and the measurable activity in a related process map.

To add a link from one map to another:
  1. Open the map that you want to link from. To link from a specific map element, select that element in the diagram area. To link from the document, click on any blank space on the diagram view area.
  2. In the Details view, click Add a document link.
  3. If you are linking to a document that has already been added to your Business Leader space, click Link to a document or element in this space. If you are linking to a public document that exists in the repository, click Link to a document or element in the repository.
  4. Browse to the document that you want to link to. If you would like to add a link to a specific element within that map, click Show elements to see the list of elements within a document.
  5. You can specify a label to indicate the relationship that is represented by the link. For example, if you are linking from a goal in a strategy map that is supported by a set of capabilities in a related capability map, you can label these links "Supported by". All links that are tagged as "Supported by" will appear grouped together in the link list for the element or map.
To remove a link, select the link and click the delete button next to it.
