WebSphere Business Space powered by WebSphere, Version 6.2.0

Exporting values

You can export the values of business measures in a monitor model to an XML file to be imported into WebSphere® Business Modeler. Only measures with a value type of decimal or duration are available for export.

Exported measures are only calculated on completed instances.

To export the data, complete the following steps:
  1. Select a monitor model. The list of models is based upon your security access that was set by the administrator.
  2. Select whether you want to export data from the selected model only or export from all versions of the selected model.
  3. Optional: Define a time range by clicking calendar icon. Specify a date in the From field, To field, or both.
  4. Select a time zone and, optionally, a location from the appropriate lists.
  5. Optional: Click Preview Data to view the XML data that will be exported.
  6. Click Export. A new browser window will open that will contain the data in XML format. To save the data, click File > Save as.
If you are using the development toolkit and the window does not have a File > Save as option, you must set WebSphere Integration Developer or Rational® Application Developer to use an external browser instead of the default internal browser. Complete the following steps:
    1. From the main menu bar, select Window > Preferences.
    2. In the Preferences window, expand General (at the top) and select Web Browser.
    3. Select the Use external Web browser check box and select the Web browser that you want to use.
Tip: If you click the name of a Web browser in the list, the Edit and Remove buttons are enabled, and you can edit the path to the Web browser.
    4. Click Apply to implement the changes, and click OK to close the Preferences window
    5. If the browser window is still open, close it. Close Business Space.
    6. When you reopen Business Space, click Export. This time, an external browser window will open. To save the data, click File > Save as.

To import the exported XML file into WebSphere Business Modeler, see the WebSphere Business Modeler documentation.
