KPI Properties

This topic discusses dashboard KPI Properties.

From a KPI widget, you can open KPI Properties by clicking the KPI name or by clicking a KPI graph and then selecting Properties from the popup window.

The properties that you can modify depend on your user access rights.

The following list describes each tab in KPI Properties:
  • Name

The Name tab contains the KPI name and description, the model name, and shows that the KPI is either personal or shared.

  • Definition
The Definition tab contains details of how the KPI is defined, including the operator, metric, time reference, and data filter values. The Operator values include:
    • Average
    • Count
    • Maximum
    • Minimum
    • Sum
    • Standard Deviation

The Metric values in the tree are grouped by monitoring context.

    The Time Reference values include:
    • Last completed period
    • Current period
    • Sliding interval
    • Fixed interval

Data filters limit the instances displayed.

  • Range

The Range tab contains the target range value and the range definition.

From a dashboard, you cannot modify ranges for modeled KPIs because certain items in the monitor model might depend on the KPI ranges, such as a recurring trigger. You can, however, create a copy of a modeled KPI and then modify a range or add a range by adding an additional row.

  • Other

The Other tab contains KPI owner information, KPI display format options, and an option to choose the data source (all models or current models only) used for calculating the KPI value.

The KPI display format options include:
    • Decimal place precision
    • Currency
    • Show percent sign
  • Preview

The Preview tab displays the KPI before you apply or save changes.
