Creating a task from an alert

Using Business Space, you can create ad hoc human task instances from the Alerts widget that can be assigned and sent to another user.

For example, when viewing the Alerts widget, you notice something that requires attention. You can create a new human task directly from the widget and assign the task to someone for investigation.
Note: This functionality is only available for use with the Human Tasks widget in the Business Space.

Prerequisite: See the related information for configuration information.

To create a new human task:

  1. Click Display menu icon and select Send Widget.

    The Send Widget window opens. (You must scroll down to see this.)

  2. Under Assignee, enter the user ID of who you are assigning the task to.
  3. Under Task, enter the subject and content for the message you are sending.
  4. Under Attachments, you can see the attached widget. The attachment includes a snapshot copy of the relevant data that reflects the questionable situation at the time you are creating the task.
  5. Click Submit.

    A new task is sent to the assignee. The task assignee can view the new task from the My Tasks widget.
