Contents ________ This file includes the following information: 1.0 Introduction 2.0 Prerequisites 3.0 Installing TOS_Patch_V1206_YYYYMMDD.zip 4.0 Notices 1.0 Introduction _________________ This patch package contains the files to address all of the APARs that are included in the current release of the TPF Operations Server product as of the package date that is specified in the filename. With this package, you can apply these APAR fixes to your TPF Operations Server machine at the current release level by using a single process. For detailed information about the APARs, see the fixpak/APAR directory in the package. Additionally, individual APARs packages are available on the TPF Product Family: Maintenance for TPF Operations Server web page (https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/node/598325). 2.0 Prerequistes _________________ The following list provides the required prerequisites: o If the 2023 patch file or earlier is installed, you must review the migration considerations for APAR IT45219 before applying this patch. o Use 7-Zip to extract the patch file to preserve the binary timestamp. 3.0 Installing TOS_Patch_V1206_YYYYMMDD.zip ____________________________________________ The compressed file includes the tospatch.bat batch file to install the updates to a TPF Operations Server machine on the current release. The following procedure provides the general steps to apply the patch. Your environment might require additional steps to apply the patch. 1. Extract the files from this package to an accessible directory. 2. Enter the ZACRS command with the FBK parameter specified to fallback any z/TPF systems that are currently using this server to another TPF Operations Server machine. 3. Transfer any required clients to another workstation. 4. Stop all TPF Operations Server programs that are running on this machine, including TPF Operations Server services. 5. Shut down any instances of the Windows Event Viewer that might be running to ensure open message queues are closed and to prevent an interruption to the installation process. 6. Run the tospatch.bat file as administrator. 7. Restart the TPF Operations Server programs and services. 8. Transfer any required clients back to the workstation. 9. Enter the ZACRS command with the FBK parameter specified to fallback any z/TPF systems back to this server.
