There are several ways to view connection error messages:
- While adding (using the Add System button from the Systems
Information view) or editing an existing system (by right clicking on a system to bring
up the popup context menu and clicking Edit System) click the Check
Connection button. This will attempt to connect to the system but will stop before
performing any authentication (and therefore is not useful for diagnosing authentication
related problems). Any errors encountered will be displayed as a short error message
followed by more detailed technical information.
- Expand an item in the Systems Information view that loads its
child items from the server, or add a query. If an error occurs, the item's image will be
decorated with an error icon. In this case, you can right click on the item and select View
Error(s) to display the technical error information.
