Removing a CICS bundle from a platform

You can remove a CICS® bundle from a platform by selecting a management part to remove from a region type. For example, you might want to remove a policy rule that you no longer want to apply to the region type.

About this task

Use the Cloud Explorer view to select a management part to remove from a region type. You can select only one management part per request.

Procedure

  1. Disable the CICS bundle before removing it from the platform.
    1. In the Cloud Explorer view, select the platform from which you want to remove the CICS bundle.
    2. In the CICS Cloud Perspective, click Window > Show View > Other > CICS SM Operations > Bundles. Alternatively, in the Cloud Explorer view, expand the region types for the platform, then expand the Bundles list for the region type where the CICS bundle is installed. Double-click the management part, or right-click the management part and select Show Installed Bundles. The CICS Bundles view opens.
    3. In the CICS Bundles view, right-click the CICS bundle and select Disable for all instances of the bundle in all of the regions in which it is installed.
  2. In the Cloud Explorer view, working with the platform hierarchy in the navigation tree, expand the region types for the platform, then expand the Bundles list to show the management parts for the region type. The status of the platform is displayed as SOMEDISABLED because you have disabled the CICS bundle.
  3. Right-click a management part and click Remove Bundle, then click OK to confirm the operation.

Results

The specified CICS bundle is removed from the platform.
