When you use the wizard to create a policy in a CICS® Bundle project, you can create
only one rule. If you want to add additional rules to an existing
policy, you can create another policy and copy the additional rule
to the existing xxxx.policy file.
About this task
To add rules to an existing policy use the wizard to create
another policy and copy and paste the policy rule information into
the existing policy.
Procedure
- Create a policy as described in Creating a policy in a CICS Bundle project. Ensure
that the new rule within a policy has a unique name.
- In the default text editor, open the xxxx.policy that you saved in 1
- Copy the new policy rule information to your
clipboard. The policy rule information is enclosed within the <rule type="xxx"> and </rule> tags. For example:
<rule type="storage">
<name>Task24bitstg_rule</name>
<description></description>
<storageUsedCondition item="task24" operator="GT" unit="B" value="0"/>
<action>
<message/>
</action>
</rule>
- Open the original xxxx.policy file and paste the new rule that was copied in 3 after the last </rule> tag so that </policy:policy> remains at the end of the XML.
- Repeat steps 1 - 4 to add as many additional rules as you
need.
- Click to save the results. The XML is validated
when you save it and errors are denoted with a red cross. Correct
any errors and save.
Results
The CICS Bundle project
is created with a policy that contains multiple rules.
What to do next
Export the CICS Bundle
project with policies to zFS for deployment, or add the policy to
a platform or an application project to package it for deployment.
