Grouping connections

You can group gateway connections by adding links from connections to connection groups. You can then import or export gateway connections. You can also rename and delete connection groups as required.

Before you begin

You must have a connection created. See Configuring a connection for more information.

About this task

You can create connection groups by using the wizard or the context menu in the CICS TG Explorer view. This task uses the wizard to create the connection group, and the context menu to create the connection link.

Procedure

  1. Open the new connection group wizard using Explorer > New Wizards > Connection group.
  2. Browse to the folder that you want to create the connection group in.
  3. Type a name for the new connection group.
  4. Click Finish. The new connection group is displayed in the CICS TG Explorer view.
  5. Right-click the connection group and select New > Connection link.
  6. From the Available connections, select the connection that you want to use.
  7. Click Finish to link the new connection to the group.

Results

You have created a connection group and added a link to a connection to this group. You can now import or export gateway connection groups. See Importing connections and Exporting connections for more information.
