Viewing connections

You can choose how to display connections using the view menu in the CICS® TG Explorer view. You can display connections by their APPLID qualifiers, or by their connection names. You can also define your own groups for viewing the connections, if you do not want to display the connections by APPLID or connection name.

Before you begin

You must have a connection created. See Configuring a connection for more information.

Procedure

  1. In the CICS TG Explorer view, click the view menu button (triangle icon) The view menu button in the CICS TG Explorer view. The top level elements menu that is displayed when you click the view button in the CICS TG Explorer view
  2. Select Applid qualified. The connections are displayed under the APPLID folder name. In this example CTG80L1Q: A list of connections displayed according to their APPLID qualifier.
  3. Open the menu again and select List. The connections are displayed in an alphabetical list using their gateway connections folder names. In this example CTG8 (CTG800L1) (2/2): A list of connections displayed in a list according to their gateway connection folder names.
  4. Open the menu again and select Custom. The view is initially empty. You can use the New menu to create a group and then you can add connections.

You have displayed the connection information in three different ways.
